So I procrastinated the other day.Actually it was all last week. Or wasit all last month? I cant remember. All I know is that I totally lived it up.

And if you know me, youmight think that the last fivesentences are a total fib(since when does Anders liveit up?), but its all true. Iprocrastinated like a pro andpartied like a rock star. Thebest part, though, is that Ilearned a lot along the wayabout motivation, friends, and the kind of life worthliving.

    Entertainment Special

3: Amnesia: The Dark Descentavent played this game much, but Iow enough to be freaked out by it. Its avival horror game set in a castle witheways mouthed monsters. Going nearmonsters causes you to go insane, ich will eventually kill you. Youre nott trying to survive; youre trying to saveur mind from the darkness around you.

ariest Part of the game: Theres aoded corridor with a monster that canar your footsteps. You cannot see thenster but you have to jump from box to

x to get through. If you fall off of thexes the monster will charge after you.nic then takes over your thoughts asu try every possible thing to get OUT OF

    HE WATER.

2: Ju-On: The Grudgeis is a survival horror game based on thevies of the same name. You probablythinking of the American Grudgevies, but dont. The original Japanesevies and manga titled JU-ON are muchre terrifying. Thats why some

mpany decided to base a game off ofse terrifying Japanese-made things. Forse of you who dont know much aboutGrudge, its that movie with theepy meowing kid and the lady with the

    ath rattle.

d for those of you that are stillnfused, its the movie with the blackred baby thing that got kicked in one of

Scary Movie films.ere really isnt an objective to thisme, you just walk around the house andnot to have an unfortunate

death. Its for the Wii, and the Wiimote isyour flashlight and the nunchuck movesyou around so you can avoid death. However, in a game like this there reallyisnt anything you can do to prevent dying.

Scariest part of the game: The gameplaystyle of the Wii amplifies the horrorexperience. The scariest part of the gameis when you hear the death rattle. This isbasically a courteous message from thegame to you. The message reads: youmight as well give up now because

you are officially screwed and aregoing to die... HAVE FUN. Thecorrect response to the death rattleis to ball up in a corner andsob lightly.

#1: Silent Hill 2All of the preceding games showcasedifferent aspects of scariness. But whetherit is adrenalin-inducing action, creepyenemies and atmosphere, disturbingness

and a thrilling plot, this next game has itall.Silent Hill 2 is about the creepy tale ofJames Sunderland. At the start of thegame, he receives a letter from his 3-yearsdeceased wife, in which she tells him to goto Silent Hill. You arrive in Silent Hill, meetsome people, and they all die. You alsofight some monsters. Ill remind you thatyour wife died of illness 3 years prior tothe games events. After you fight somemonsters, you enter a dark room with atelevision. You sit and watch a video thathas a bigger plot twist than the sixthsense. You find out that being incapable ofwatching your wife suffer from illness anylonger, you put her out of her misery. The

entirety of the Silent Hill extravaganzawas all a guilt trip to make youremember what you did. It was areminder of the awful sin youcommitted. This brings us to... HIM

Scariest part of the game:Pyramid Head

Probably one of the mostinfamously iconic yet terrifyingcharacters in all of gaming,Pyramid Head (yes thats his

name) is the big baddie of bigbaddies in Silent Hill 2. He

is dressed as a butcherwith a bloodied

    apron and ahumongous

pyramid onhis head. For a weapon, he drags aroundan enormous cleaver that is so big heHAS to drag it from place to place, making a sound worse than a chalkboardrubbing against another chalkboard into

    a microphone giving feedback.

But, this isnt the worst part of pyramidhead. The scary thing is his purpose.James felt so guilty he believed heneeded to be punished by someone orsomething for his sins. Thats where thisexecutioner comes in. Pyramid Headdoesnt get to James, but he surepunishes everyone else for what Jamesdid.

Well that ends my list of top 3 scariestgames. For those of you who have read, thanks. For those of you who havent...My self-esteem thanks you. Keep onGaming!

    Teacher Profile:Mrs. Nitoski

n Focus rs. Nitoskis Journey to Becoming a Greatacher

Favorite Teaching MomentOne time, I doubted whetherI could teach or not. I asked:should I be here? Then threethings happened in one day.

The first was a little thank-youcard given to me by one of thefreshman girls in my first hour

expressing how much shelearned from me. Later, oneof my boys wrote for anassignment that I was

teaching the students skillsthat they could use for life. Then one of the kids who

always stayed in the backtold me that he loved myclass and was learning somuch. I believe thingshappen in threes, and sothose three really confirmedwhat I was doing and toldme I should stay in teaching.

ITA and the Pontiacobotics team know Mrs.toski as a uniquelytelligent and inspiringacher. All she is now, ough, Mrs. Nitoski creditsyears of dedication to

arning the right skills andorking diligently and

nsistently. In high school, tually, Mrs. Nitoski didnt

care about her grades oreven apply herself in school.I had a 2.5 averagethroughout all four years, she says with a playful smile. The intelligence was there, she notes, but she didnthave the skills and work ethicto do well.

    Mrs. Nitoski can smile

about her high school yearsnow. She has more than

earned it. A few years afterhigh school, she found heracademic rhythm and earned

a Bachelors Degree beforegoing on to notch a 4.0 gradepoint average for herMasters.

Today, Mrs. Nitoski hastaught high school socialstudies for 13 years and has along list of students whohave been inspired by herteaching. What was the

change? Learning the skillsfor success was the

difference, as Mrs. Nitoskitells her student daily. Mrs.Nitoski remembers, I

learned how to organize. Itook notes. As a student,Mrs. Nitoski used to not haveany systems to learn with. She was on the battlefield ofacademics without weaponsand ammunition. Knowingthis, Mrs. Nitoskis goal nowis to give her students all thatshe didnt have in high school

so that they can go on tosucceed in college and life.

Teaching PhilosophyAll kids can succeed, but they must learn the skills necessary for success.

Give them the skills and tools they need and let them grow .
