The Emissions Trading Scheme
Many Scientists believe the climate is getting less hospitable for human habitation, caused by depletion
of vegetation, habitat and natures emission offsets through the existence, depletion and decrease of
high carbon sedimentary layering.
I believe this science is true and respect the scientists, but the Emissions Trading Scheme or ETS is an
attempt of Markets to effectively create capital without needing to physically produce anything.
To say efficiency gains are the product is not demonstrated with this scheme.
I understand the argument that market forces are one of the best tools for change, the most efficient
way to reduce emissions is to fund the application of alternative energy sources and research directly
from the marketed Material which created it.
The reason why it would cost so much for Australia to source all Certified Emissions locally is because
this is closer to the actual cost to offset per head emissions, with projected expendable wages $70 or
even $270 per ton might not cause lifestyle change depending on your individual circumstance, or if you
benefit from the continents exclusive mining sector. For Australia the Emissions Trading Scheme is our Representatives and Resource fuel industry in a cartel
arrangement.
Australian Iron ore exports jumped 27 percent this year and we now enter into coal seam gas
production with large Fracking contracts and no talk of stopping before all geological resources are
extracted or were direct human habitation loss is proven.
The Global Financial Crisis or GFC is not an event, but continuing to play out across the globe.
Retirements, money saved during lifetimes of work to stay alive in the future, stolen through
unaccountable schemes under the watch of Economist worldwide.
ETS globally Certified Emissions, means agreed caps for all states and countries, global agreement on
legally enforceable and globally policed Certified Emission reduction, descriptions and unit costs.
Australia should not join the so called global ETS, or do deals with selective ETS members.
Efficiency or viability of particular sustainable practice varies. An important aspect should be, is this
practice reducing the individuals footprint and living cost in their particular environment.
This does not have to benefit anybody else, as with the problem around solar panel electricity
generation storage and the emphasis on return to the suppliers grid.
Were would Millions of electric cars charge, whose batteries would they have and would it be efficient?
Designing efficient public transport systems people choose to use in the city is part of some solution.
By definition the emissions from Cars, trucks, planes and trains ultimately has to be included in an ETS.
There are 41.75 Million gas and diesel cars registered in Germany, just 2 thousand are electric cars.
Australia is a sparse hot country, solar hot water system and solar power should be manufactured and
publically affordable based on practical sustainability, indifferent to grid connection or system voltage.
The hot isolated regions of Australia should see considerations for Thermal Storage as backup base load
to complement solar panels in domestic use.
