The Art Deco movementflourished internationally throughout the 1930’s.The style influenced all areas of design, including interior design, and furniture.At its best it representedelegance, glamour andfunctionality and it’s linear symmetry was a distinctdeparture from the flowing asymmetrical organic curves of its predecessor style art nouveau.

The Victorian period saw the rise of two movements infurniture design in England, the Arts and Crafts and the Art Furniture movement.

The Victorian wardrobe is often characterized by the 3 panel door design whichtogether with the use ofmirror adds an alternative twist to the classic design.
