Feast of the Epiphany
As we continue the Christmas season this feast helps us to
understand that Jesus is the Light of the whole world and his
salvation is given to all people. The magi from afar trusted
that God would lead them to the new King, whom they found
in very humble, non-royal circumstances. Do we allow God to
help us to recognize Christ in the face of the migrant women
and children crossing our borders? In the lives of the poor? In
the tiny unborn child? In the prisoner on death row? Where
can we look for Jesus this week?
pobres? ¿en los pequeños niños no-natos? ¿en el prisionero
condenado a muerte? ¿Dónde podemos buscar a Jesús esta
semana?

As the new year kicks off to a wonderful start and everyone is making new year’s resolutions...has it cross your mind to serve in one of the Church’s Ministries? Make a commitment to Serve in a capacity that either challenges you and supports the Church or stay within your comfort zone and serve the Lord?!. Here are just a few ministries that you might consider: Altar Servers: an opportunity for younger members of the par- ish who have celebrated their First Communion to assist at the altar during Mass. Environment: the preparation of our place of worship so that our faith community may gather to pray in a place of beauty and inspiration. Eucharistic Ministers: confirmed adults and teens who are com-missioned to assist in the distribution of Communion at Mass.? All Eucharistic Ministers also serve by bringing communion to the homebound and nursing homes Greeters: families assigned to lead our parish welcome of those who join us on Sunday’s Eucharist Lectors: those who proclaim the Word of God at Mass through their reading of the Old and New Testament selections. Music Ministers or Choir: vocalists and instrumentalists, di-rected by the Director of Music , who lead the congregation at Mass in Psalms, hymns, and inspired songs Sacristans: those who work to prepare beforehand the vessels and objects required to celebrate Mass. Pray about and if you decide you are interest or have any questions regarding a particular ministry the contact infor-mation for the head ministers are located in every Sunday’s Bulletin under Ministry Volunteer Directory.
