Larry Dobson for submitting the cover page for the March Newsletter! “For God so loved the world that he sent his only son so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16, 17) Lent is a good time to reflect on the love that is central to our Faith. Jesus came to announce “good news”!! Take time to read the gospels. See and think about how Jesus lived out the good news of unconditional love. He treats people graciously and respectfully. His love knows no boundaries or restrictions! No Limits! You do not need to prove anything. Just acknowledge that God loves you whether you deserve it or not. Thank God for that amazing love. In a spirit of gratitude and love for God, consider how you can spread that love. How can you help the people you encounter each day to experience that love.

March 2017

Special thanks to Rev. Larry Dobson for submitting the cover page for the March Newsletter!

“For God so loved the world that he sent his only son so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16, 17)

Lent is a good time to reflect on the love that is central to our Faith.

Daisy Troop #1111 helping with the Vine this month. We had six Daisies help serve food to our Vine families. The girls earned a green petal for their vest for helping. The green petal stands for considerate and caring. They did a fantastic job!

THE VINE FOOD PANTRY

The food pantry was open Saturday 2/25/17 from 10-11:30 a.m. 10 families received food at this time with one family registering for food.

Ralph and I wish to thank those individuals who donated either food or money to purchase food. We also wish to thank Sally Wallace, Amy Weitzel, Troop 1111 Scouts, Emma Weitzel, Abigail Gladfelter, Honor Ballard, Delaney Houston, Sophia and Isabelle Stanyard for their assistance with the distribution of food. Troop 118 Scout Sarah Weitzel, Troop leaders: Amy Weitzel and Erica Gladfelter; Troop 1111 Moms Rachael Houston, Angela Ballard and Krystle Stanyard.

The next date for the food pantry will be Saturday, March 25, 2017

Miles of Pennies

Donations for the quarter will be announced in the April newsletter!

Total to date is $570.17 for our fifth Mile of Pennies. A Mile of Pennies

consists of $844.80 or 84,480 pennies. The Mile of Pennies originated in

1986.The basket for your contributions (any loose change) is located on your left

as you enter the Narthex and ‘thank-you’ for your participation in this mission of

our church. The money is used by the Deacons to purchase cards and stamps for

mailings to members and friends of the congregation.

****************************** What’s Happening at PCHdG

The Vine Food Pantry ALWAYS needs: Peanut Butter, Jelly/Jams, Spaghetti/Sauce, Canned meats, Mac & Cheese, and Cereals. Pick up one or two items the next time you’re shopping and drop them at church on Sunday. If everyone brings 1 item, which will be 40-50 items a week. The pantry would stay full.

Don’t forget the ‘Coffee Fellowship’ each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. prior to the worship service at 11 a.m. We meet in the parlor between the educational building and sanctuary.

Prayer Requests Our church family and friends as we continue a new chapter in the life of our

church. Ron Mathias, medical concerns. Lovie Jane Pierce, bedridden and on hospice. Leola Leffler, as her leg continues to heal. Alan Miller, former member of PCHdG, major medical issues. Family and friends of Marylou Downey. She was a friend of James & Linda

Glod. Family and friends of Edna Smith. She was Greg and Mike Smith’s aunt and

sister-in-law to Ana Marie Smith. Family and friends of Paul Leedom. Mr. Leedom passed away on Thursday.
