 The Executive Department

Executive Power -It is the power to enforce and administer the laws.

 The Sec.1 Article VII of present Constitution provides that:

“The executive power shall be vested in the President of

the Philippines”**

**In the 1935 Constitution, this provision was originally:

“The executive power shall be vested in a President of

the Philippines” – whereas, executive power was once

addressed directly to the person in the presidential seat, a

condition which gave Ferdinand E. Marcos the license to

convert the former into a seat of unlimited power and

unbelievable corruption. Hence, the revision that executive

power is now vested not in the person in position, but in the

seat empowered to enforce and administer the laws.

Qualifications: (CAR3)

1.Natural-born CITIZEN of the Philippines

2.At least forty years of AGE on the day of the election

3.REGISTERED voter

4.Able to READ and write

5.RESIDENT of the Philippines for at least ten years immediately

preceding such election
