Joint Centers with companies

• Without legal personality– RDI centers regulated by contract– Cátedras universidad-empresa– Laboratories

• With legal personality– Partnerships– Fundations– EIG– Anonymous or limited companies– Consortiums

14

Examples of legal personality(2006-2008)

UPM Park

• Its development is strategic– More than 100 M€ until 2010– 1 million of m2

• It is a help to create common goals– IRD multidisciplinary centers– Strategic alliances with other entities– Business Incubators– Help services

Final Conclusions

• Having a IRD strategy in the University is not easy– Specific rules– Financing for long term

• Generation knowledge and its transfer is strategic.– Identify common interests.

• UPM Park is our main institutional action for the following 5 years– 100 M€ for 2005-2015
