MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2020 – DAY ONE MAIN VIRTUAL FALL FORUM BEGINS FOR ALL

All sessions are in Eastern Time 12:50 pm ALL ATTENDEES LOG ONTO PLATFORM FOR FALL FORUM OPENING KEYNOTE! 1:00 pm MAIN FORUM BEGINS – CONFERENCE DAY ONE KICK-OFF! WELCOME FROM TII 1:15 pm – 2:00 pm Keynote Opening Address: GEOPOLITICAL TRENDS INVESTORS NEED TO WATCH AFTER THE PANDEMIC! The interesting thing about the Covid-19 outbreak is that to this point it has not created a depression. A recession is primarily a financial event. A depression is the destruction of economic systems. In the United Stated we have already seen some brick-and mortar retailers move into bankruptcy, and there is heavy pressure on the airline industry, but most of the economy is still recoverable at this point. The major question of the next six months will be the race between developing a vaccine and experiencing an economic breakdown. This also impacts the international system, as different nations will undergo different processes. All of this, of course, is in the context of the U.S. presidential elections. The same forces that were in place to elect Trump remain in place, so his defeat is not at all certain. And as we will be nine months into the Covid-19 crisis by then, it will certainly be a defining element in the election. Speaker: Dr. George Friedman, Founder, Geopolitical Futures

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2020 – DAY TWO CONTINUED All sessions are in Eastern Time

11:00 am – 11:45 am ESG Integration & Implementation: ESG INVESTMENTS: THE FASTEST GROWING SECTOR IN ASSET MANAGEMENT ESG Investments (and by ESG we are including Impact and SRIs) is the fastest growing sector in

asset management presenting trillions of dollars of investment opportunities. This panel will dive into how to implement these strategies TODAY! Below are the topics our panelists will tackle when choosing a framework to evaluate opportunities and managers in this sector both public and private.

-A dive into the DOL Passthrough Rule: Proving that your risk return objectives are commensurate with your peers in your strategy/sector using a like kind benchmark, irrespective of ESG. Your fiduciary agreement is first and foremost to the IPS. – This is a power you have in measuring impact and success. Not necessarily to ESG, but to the risk/return objective in a like kind strategy. This is how many large trend setting plans are thinking about this.

-Pass Through: Are your underlying companies in whom you’re investing in supported by and endorsing your ESG principles? Can you document ESG advisory services to each investment? Is the underlying business durable in its ability to scale and grow?

-How can managers meet these challenges? It's not just ESG, it’s sustainability, proving that what the manager is doing will endure; The manager has identified investment opportunities that not only meet investment standards for ESG, but have embraced them as their own; Managers should be identified as fiduciaries (Full stop) against other like/kind investments. Don't lead with ESG or Women-Owned, which unfortunately are ancillary components of capitalism.

ABOUT THE INVESTMENT INSTITUTE

Andrea Szigethy Donna Holly

Founder & CEO President

The Investment Institute (TII) offers premier, unbiased, non-commercial educational investment forums for senior investment decision-makers from leading endowments, foundations, pension funds, hospitals/healthcare, single family offices (SFOs), multi-family offices (MFOs), RIAs, consultants, outsourced CIO firms, asset management firms and other financial institutions. TII features some of the most well-known and leading allocators, money managers, policy makers, economists, research strategists and business leadership gurus along with some of the most prominent institutional and private investors and brings them together for face-to-face conversations, debate and problem-solving. The programs cover complex issues surrounding the financial industry and the speaker faculty analyze risk while revealing many opportunities in the current market environment. Programs typically take place in the Southeast, however members participate from all around the country. A hallmark of TII is that it strives for the highest percentage/good ratio of allocators to managers in the audience at each event. The distinguished 30-person Editorial Committee, which reflects a cross section of various types of asset owners, engage with TII to set the direction and develop the cutting-edge timely topics and themes for all of the forums. It is with their guidance that new and innovative ideas are developed to educate TII’s community. The Editorial Committee assists TII in the recruitment of speakers, drives the content by selecting topics, and also acts as an informal advisory board and strategic resource. TII’s goal is to keep its investment community abreast of industry practices on a “real-time” basis at each program and to sharpen the understanding of critical factors impacting both long and short-term investment ideas leading to better investment returns. Andrea Szigethy, Founder & CEO and Donna Holly, President, have been working alongside each other as educators in the financial sector for over 19 years. Together they have built an organization that provides their members a relaxed, friendly, and non-sales type of atmosphere, fostering an environment to learn and connect with one another in a way that promotes lifelong relationships, trust and friendship among institutional and private investors, consultants and asset managers. Attendance at the forums is typically limited to enable members to meet almost everyone over the course of the program. High-caliber investment education, sophisticated investor attendees and in-depth networking are the key components of TII’s mission. The in-person forums are designed to be 1.5 days of programming including a down-to-earth, relaxed networking dinner which allows everyone to get to know one another on a more human level. In April of 2020, TII launched a successful Virtual Coffee-Break Series that has become known to the investment community as something not to be missed! The virtual series takes place bi-weekly and features presenters interviewed by a member of TII’s Editorial Committee on some of the most vital topics. TII welcomes new asset owners, allocators and managers into their circle of friends and are always interested in connecting!
