ALFRED HITCHCOCK (13.08.1899-29.04.1980)

British filmmaker, producer and screenwriter. Worked in the UK and in the USA.Hitchcock was able to create skillfully in his films alarming atmosphere of uncertainty and expectation. In the last year of his life he received an honorable award of the American Film Institute and Queen Elizabeth II created him a knight.

 THE BEATLES – BRITISH ROCK GROUP FROM LIVERPOOL

It consists of celebrities such as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, was born in Liverpool, 1960.The Beatles ‑ British rock-group made a huge contribution to the development, promotion and rock culture as a whole. The group became one of the bright phenomena of the world culture of 60‑s years of the XX century.This group got seven official awards of «Grammy» and one ‘’Oscar’’ for their outstanding successes on the musical Olympus. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

BERNARD SHAW (26.07.1856 - 02 .11.1950)

the well-known British (Irish and English) writer, novelist, playwright, winner of the Nobel prize in literature. The public figure (socialist«fabianist», a supporter of the reform of the English alphabet). ALAN ALEXANDER MILNE  (18. 01.1882 - 31.01.1956)

He is an English writer, the author of novels about the «bear with sawdust in the head» - Winnie-the-Pooh. Took part in the First World War. Many years was a member of the English comic magazine «Penny» (Punch).

A book about the Teddy bear Winnie the Pooh Milne wrote for his only son, whose name was Christopher Robin. There were

only two written books - in fact, "Winnie the Pooh" and "the House on Down the Edge of the Woods". Soft toys, belonging to the son of Christopher Robin Milne were the

idea for the creation of Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends.

RUDYARD KIPLING (30.12. 1865 - 18.01.1936)the English writer, poet and novelist.His best works are considered to be «the jungle Book» (The Jungle Book), «Kim» (Kim), as well as numerous poems. In 1907 Kipling became the first Englishman, who received the Nobel prize for literature. In the same year he received awards from the universities of Paris, Strasbourg, Athens and Toronto; also awarded honorary degrees from Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Durham universities.The name of Rudyard he received in honor of the English lake Rudyard, where his parents had met.

MICHAEL FARADAY (1791 – 1867)

English physicist, the founder of the doctrine of the electromagnetic field. After more than thirty years, a work "The Origin of Man and sexual selection", where Darwin openly expressed the idea that man evolved from apes.Charles Darwin was very inquisitive in all that concerned the animal world. A passion as he fed the animals to know the taste. When Darwin studied at Cambridge, the first thing to enter the club gourmet. Every week he was going along with the others that try unusual dishes. There he tasted the hawk, bittern and even the old owl. The gastronomic research Darwin went on board the "Beagle". His meals were agouti, armadillo, Galapagos tortoises, puma and a rare bird rhea.
