July Mission Emphasis
Meals on Wheels Through the ministry and work of Meals on
Wheels, many people in Anderson are fed a hot meal each weekday. Helps us to support their good work. We are collecting several items to help them: Little Debbie cakes, bags of rice, and/or #10 cans of green beans, carrots, applesauce, and pears. Please bring your donations and place in the blue bin outside the church office. Thanks for your prayers and support of this organization.
RHODES RESPITE CARE If you would like to volunteer or know of persons
interested in volunteering, we’d like to have them call
and schedule a time to observe the program. Volunteers
assist with snacks, playing games, working puzzles,
serving lunch, singing, art, brain games, and with other
activities. A good way to support Rhodes Respite would
be for classes, groups, or a few individuals to provide a
lunch for around 15 people on a Tuesday or Thursday.
If interested, call Gail Marion, Director at 245-1694 to
discuss a date.

The Christian sympathy of the pastor and congregation is expressed to: The family of Constance “Patsy” Pickens on her death June 11. Hilda Harbin and family and Bill and Misty
Dillard and family on the death of Hilda’s husband and Misty’s father, Henry Calhoun (Bob) Harbin on June 12.
Summer Choir will sing in worship from the beginning of July until the Sunday of
Labor Day weekend. We support congregational singing and also sing a hymn or simple hymn-like piece on our
own. We will meet at 10:15 each Sunday to get ready for the service. The Summer Choir will not wear robes and
will leave the loft prior to the sermon so they can sit with their families.
VBS 2016 We had a great week at the VBS Surf Shack! With over 160 children and 50 volunteers we were absolutely overwhelmed with blessings! A big thank you to everyone who played a part in making the week such a wonderful place for children to hear and experience God’s love!
The surfers offering this year totaled close to $400 and will be sent to the S.C. Sea Turtle Rescue Hospital.
Way to go surfers!!
2016 Directors: Tracy Harbert, Tonya Brock and Jenny Pray worked tirelessly for nearly 6 months...so be sure to give them a ‘high five’ when you see them around town!

252 KIDS – Elementary SUNDAYS at 9:30 in room #124
This summer, we get to view the story of Jesus through a man whose life was radically changed when we encountered the story of Jesus. He went from a person who did whatever it took to stop the message of Jesus from spreading to one who ended up writing most of the New Testament of the Bible and dying for his faith in Jesus. This man, as you may have already guessed, is Paul. He went all over the known world preaching the Story of Jesus. We’ll explore where in the world Paul was and how we fit into his story too.
