We are on a mission. In 2000, I formed URBAN ANGEL, LLC to help every man, woman and child become the best person they can be through the development of different programs, mentoring and organizations. It is my pleasure to report that this VISION is now becoming a reality. We have been very busy building a foundation to achieve maximum impact in every community where there are URBAN ANGELS. Here is a list of some, but not all of our triumphs.

We here at URBAN ANGEL have also successfully launched an exclusive network card. THE VVM BLACK CARD, which provides discounts at various businesses for the VvM network. The VvM black card is currently accepted at over 25 local and national businesses. In addition, the card also provides members with a discounted price for all URBAN ANGEL events and apparel. I am also pleased to announce the official launch of the URBAN ANGEL Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 that will further our ability to carry out our mission of empowering communities, enhancing lives, inspiring men, women and children to achieve more positive, stable and productive lifestyles.

I am very excited to announce the appointment of William M. Cobb as the Executive Director of Urban Angel Foundation. Mr. Cobb brings over twenty-five years of combined executive, corporate and non-profit experience to our organization. Mr. Cobb will be responsible for the day to day operations of the foundation and will report to its Founder and Board. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to fiscal management and control, marketing and public relations, human resource management, fundraising, philanthropy and the creation and implementation of URBAN ANGEL FOUNDATION events and programs. Please join me in welcoming “Bill” to his new role as he takes flight!

URBAN ANGEL FOUNDATION “LOVES”

VENANGO HOUSE SENIORS

Urban Angels spent their Valentine’s Day with the seniors of the Venango House in North Philadelphia. The angels brought gifts, flowers, candy, cards, hugs and kisses but gave seniors of the Venango House the most precious gift of all; which was their time.

URBAN ANGEL BASKETBALL LEAGUE

We are happy to announce the official launch of the Urban Angel Basketball League. Initially, a few gentlemen began meeting after work for fellowship, exercise and entertainment. Before we knew it, more and more men began to join the group and there were more people than we could accommodate! As a result, the league was formed. We are currently utilizing Simon Gratz High School. Currently, there are eight teams with ten players on each team. The players are males between the ages of twenty to fifty and all of the teams are coached and managed by the ladies of UA. Since the inception of the season, we have had in excess of 300 people in attendance each week. Our league is family-oriented and many people attend with their children and grandchildren. Concessions and face-painting are available. All are welcome!

Urban Angel of the Month Each month we will select the Urban Angel that flies higher and goes beyond to help carry forth the UA mission. It is with great pleasure that we announce the recipients of this month’s award.
