THE FORT TIER IV DATA CENTER | 1

THE FORT CAMPUSDATA CENTER BUILDING

The FORT TIER IV Certified Data Center building was designed to expand as demand grows. There are 2 phases to the design project. Phase 1 is ready for occupancy now, providing 10,000 sqft of Tier IV certified data center services. Phase II will provide up to 50,000 sqft of additional data center space.

OFFICE SPACE

The FORT office rental space is available now for occupants. A total of 33,000 sqft of office space is available for lease. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor each offer 11,000 sqft of space built to suit. The 1st floor is used for the Network Operations Center (NOC), security, shipping & receiving, equipment staging and storage. The 5th floor is occupied by SH Data Technologies who manages and operates the data center.

PHYSICAL SECURITY

The FORT Data Center utilizes the best security practices to ensure client information and equipment is secure.• Armed security guards are on-site to monitor all access to the buildings and campus premises

24x7x365. • 189 security cameras are strategically deployed throughout the datacenter, office building and

campus premises, all of which are monitored by the security team. • 12-foot-tall steel fencing around the campus premises. • Biometrics and electronic key cards are required to enter campus and buildings • Government supplied ID is required by the security guards to allow anyone on campus. • Anyone entering the campus or buildings must be preauthorized to enter. • 7 layers of physical security in place to secure access to data center equipment. • Anyone entering the Network Operations Center area or Data Center are escorted at all times. • Data Center building is poured concrete with 14inch thick walls, concrete ceiling and floor.

EQUIPMENT STAGING AREA & SECURE STORAGE

Clients can schedule and utilize our equipment staging area and secure storage cages. As equipment arrives on the loading dock, we check the equipment into client secure storage cages until the client is ready to configure and deploy into the data center. Client technicians and engineers can utilize the equipment staging area to configure, update software and test their network equipment and servers. Clients may also request our Professional Services Team to project manage, configure, update and install equipment in the data center.

CONFERENCE CENTER

The FORT offers clients a secure conference room and break room to utilize while they are planning and implementing deployment of technology and services. Clients can schedule meetings with partners and customers on-site to conduct business.

The core of the FORT Data Center Network is a Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) Topology using redundant Spine and Leaf switches. Internet connectivity is provided by two Cisco ASR 1000 redundant routers, each with redundant connections to multiple carrier companies. Network Security is managed by Fortinet providing packet level security policies at wire speed.

BACKUP GENERATORS

The FORT utilizes 2N redundant CAT 1,000 KVA low emission diesel generators. Each generator has a 3,600gal fuel tank to provide 10 days of continuous power. We also have a priority fuel contract with a local fuel supplier to ensure unlimited up-time.

NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER (NOC)The FORT Data Center Network Operations Center (NOC) is manned 24x7x365 by a minimum of 2 NOC Technicians. The Technicians continuously monitor and maintain the health of the Data Center, Network Communications, Security and Client Mission Critical Systems.

TRELLIS & LOGICMONITOR – CONTROL & MONITORING SYSTEM

The FORT Data Center utilizes state-of-the-art monitoring systems to provide our NOC real-time, integrated views of IT and facility assets. The Trellis DCIM solution makes it easier to collaborate, plan and control changes in the data center. LogicMonitor allows our NOC to monitor everything, everywhere so we can manage Information Technology in the data center holistically.


COMMUNICATIONSThe FORT campus has two (2) separate communication buildings providing redundant connectivity to the data center. All fiber entering the FORT campus is pulled through underground conduit which is encased in concrete. All fiber leaving the campus is in diverse paths leaving the city and the state. No single point of failure exists in the fiber plant on campus or off-campus.

The FORT is a Carrier Hotel and is carrier neutral. We currently have AT&T, Comcast, WOW, IRIS, Windstream and ZAYO available to clients for connectivity. We have the capacity to house dozens of communication providers in our communication buildings on campus.

Each communications building has an independent environmental system and utility power. UPS and generator backup are the same systems suppling the data center.

TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS


POWERThe unique location of the FORT Data Center provides two separate power feeds on two separate power grids, supplied by six different power plants. A combination of hydroelectric, nuclear and one coal plant provide 84% clean energy to the data center. The one coal power plant will be decommissioned in 24 months providing the data center with 100% clean energy.

Knoxville Utility Board (“KUB”) is the local power utility company and Tennessee Valley Authority (“TVA”) is the hydroelectric, nuclear and coal plant provider. KUB and TVA currently can provide the FORT up to 9 Megawatts of power with the ability to expand to 90 Megawatts as demand increases.

Side “A” power to the data center is provided by Power Grid CC13 and has an up-time of 99.99%. Side “A” power lines enter the FORT campus from East Summit Street. Power lines on-campus are in underground conduits encased in concrete.

Side “B” power to the data center is provided by Power Grid MO31 and has an up-time of 99.89%. Side “B” power lines enter the FORT campus from Patton Street. Power lines on-campus are in underground conduits encased in concrete.
