We are looking to recruit experienced Registered nurse to join our Orthopaedic advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) team, who are ready to embrace the challenge of this dynamic and challenging role. You will be an expert clinical practitioner responsible for providing advanced clinical skills in our Orthopaedic unit (trauma and elective), enhancing care and improving patient flow in conjunction with national standards.

You will have experience in managing safe, effective treatment and care. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with others including acute and primary care nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and senior management teams. You will provide direct patient management in partnership with senior medical staff, have sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills in acute care. You should possess the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, work across professional boundaries and be flexible in an extremely busy environment. This post is 37.5hrs over 12 hour shifts.

You will be an existing Advanced Nurse Practitioner in possession of a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice.

An opportunity has arisen for suitably experienced Mental Health Nurses to join the Band 6 Charge Nurses in the Unscheduled Care Assessment Team (UCAT) based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital.

We are looking for nurses who poses excellent team working skills, use initiative, have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and time management skills. Also a requirement is to have a valid NMC registration. There is a wide range of ongoing training opportunities within NSHS Fife to develop your skills and range of clinical supervisors within the mental health service.

UCAT provide, in collaboration with medical staff colleagues, a response to all episodes of unscheduled mental health care in Fife. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week service. The Team also supply Charge Nurse support to the Acute Ward at Whyteman’s Brae, out of hours and are bed managers across the mental health sites in Fife.

Candidates are required to have considerable experience as a Staff Nurse in an appropriate mental health setting.

The service has 12 inpatient beds dedicated to active rehabilitation The inpatient rehabilitation programme has been internationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) since 2003 and seeks to provide a high standard of care and rehabilitation to people with a variety of neurological conditions with a particular emphasis on acquired brain injury (including Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury) and Multiple Sclerosis

As part of an Interdisciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the delivery of high quality programmes of care and the setting of standards to meet the needs of individual patients.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to develop their knowledge and skills within the field of neuro rehabilitation.

We currently have vacancies within the Recovery and Adaptation Unit in Cameron Hospital which provides rehabilitation and complex discharge planning for adults and the older person within a therapeutic environment.

We are looking to recruit registered nursing staff committed to delivering a high level of person centred care and become a valued member of our team.

We are dedicated to supporting and developing our nursing workforce and in turn offer support, learning opportunities and extended skill including ILS (Immediate Life Support), AIM’s (Acute Illness Management), Intravenous Medicine Administration, Cannulation and Syringe Drive Training.

You must have effective communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a commitment to deliver excellent patient care at all times.

We have a range of full time and part time posts with a variety of shift pattern including core shift and 12.5 hours shift pattern to ensure a staff’s work life balance and to maintain our service is covered 24/7. The RAU is set within a therapeutic environment and has close working relationship with other disciplines and wards within site. In Fife SLTs are based in geographical clusters made up of mixed grade therapists; this post is part of the North East cluster.

You will have undergraduate experience of managing a range of speech, language and communication needs in children within a wider community caseload/workload. Experience of working collaboratively with other Health and Education colleagues is desirable. Knowledge of Government drivers such as GIRFEC and the CYP Act will be required in order to support the implementation of a tiered model of intervention to the children & young people of Fife.

Therapists will be well supported by experienced and encouraging senior members of the service. The post will enable a newly qualified therapist to gain experience of working at universal, targeted and specialist levels of intervention.

The Speech and Language Therapy Service in Fife supports Therapists through peer facilitation, personal development planning and provides excellent opportunities for continuing professional development. Therapists will be assigned a mentor to support them to begin or continue developing their RCSLT competencies. Therapists are also guided by the principles of the Malcomess Clinical Decision Making Framework which is well established in individual caseloads in the Fife service so an understanding of Care Aims although not essential would be a decided advantage.

Job Purpose: This post involves providing a dietetic service to both clinics for people with diabetes in GP practices along with general community dietetic clinics, mostly in Kirkcaldy and Central Fife area. This will include some domiciliary visits and also an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of group education programmes for type 2 diabetes.

The diabetes team works closely with multidisciplinary specialist diabetes teams in both acute and community and provides Dietetic input into a range of specialist diabetes areas, including pregnancy, Type 1, and insulin pumps.

Working Areas/Caseload: The post holder will be required to work independently alongside a wide range of health and social care practitioners. The caseload will include a range of dietetic interventions, particularly in the community clinics. Collaborative network arrangements is in place with NHS Lothian for UGI cancers and there is a network established for Bariatrics. The post holder with Bariatric interest will contribute to the new Bariatric network.

The General Surgery department is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and training. It is affiliated to the Universities of Edinburgh, Dundee and St Andrews. You will to join our team of 4 existing Consultant Microbiologists. This is a new post to support water safety and decontamination and expansion of infection consult services in NHS Fife.

The Department of Microbiology is situated in the North Laboratory on the Victoria Hospital site in Kirkcaldy. It provides laboratory services for both primary and secondary care for the whole of the Fife region (population approx. 385, 000). The department provides a broad range of services including bacteriology (clinical and environmental), parasitology, mycology, extensive viral serology and seminal analysis services. Molecular testing for a number of pathogens is well established.

The department is accredited to ISO 15189 UKAS standards (clinical microbiology diagnostic service only). There is close working with the Department of Infection Prevention and Control and this post will include 3 sessions for water safety, decontaminant and infection control in the built environment. The exact job plan is open to discussion in conjunction with current post-holders and line managers. Depending on your prior experience, there is the scope to participate in the infection consult service and expand surgical / orthopaedic ward-based liaison services.

The successful candidates will join a close-knit team of paediatricians working across both acute (hospital-based) and community settings. Child health services in Fife are delivered across a number of community locations and in a 24 bedded in-patient ward situated in the recently built wing of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. A separate children’s out-patient department and ambulatory care unit complete the services offered in the hospital. There are around 3000 medical paediatric admissions per annum. Additional out-patients services are offered at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

Neither post has an obligatory out of hours commitment. For both posts participation in the regional CP Out of Hours rota (Lothian/Borders/Fife Child Sexual Abuse + Lothian physical abuse) may be possible, to a maximum of 0.5PA, but would need to be negotiated with the various stakeholders. The department is committed to establishing a Child Protection Consultant of the Week and both post holders would be expected to contribute to this. Neither post holder would be expected to contribute to Fife acute consultant of the week or on call rota.

We are seeking a CCH Consultant colleague with experience in all aspects of community paediatrics, as well as the vision and enthusiasm to join our forward-looking team. Specific areas of responsibility may be negotiated according to the interests of the applicant and needs of the department. The integration of services between the hospital and the community is recognised as an essential part of the service.

The Breast Service is responsible for over 2500 new patient episodes each year and treats approximately 130 new cancers every year. A full range of breast procedures is offered by the unit, including reconstructive, oncoplastic procedures and symmetrising surgery. Free flaps are undertaken by the regional plastic surgery service.

You will be expected to help in the administration of the unit and perform operating lists, new patient clinics, follow-up clinics and emergencies where appropriate. The on-call commitment is currently two nights per fortnight.

The Breast Service is a specialty within the Planned Care Directorate which is part of the Acute Services Division.

The department of Trauma and Orthopedic Services in NHS Fife wishes to appoint a clinical development fellow (ST1/CT1 level). This is a 1 year, fixed term post, designed to allow the opportunity to build skills in the generality of surgery and with specific experience in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. This post is ideally suited to someone who is is preparing to make an application for either ST1 or ST3 level NTN in Trauma and Orthopaedics, which a previous post holder has successfully achieved. The department has a strong record in research as well as links with Edinburgh and St Andrew's Universities. The post holder would be expected to assist with the teaching of medical students from St Andrews, receiving as part of this the status of Honorary Teaching Fellow. They will be encouraged to undertake a research project and can apply to register for an MSc. There are ample opportunties to take part in either audit or quality improvement projects during the post. The candidate will take part in the middle grade on-call rota which is a 1:12 partial shift.

The Practice is based within Kirkcaldy Health Centre and conveniently situated next to Victoria Hospital and Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. Our current list size is approximately 7300. The Practice is paper-light and uses Vision and Docman.

The Practice has 4 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 Associate Nurse Partner, 1 Specialist Practice Nurse, 1 Practice Nurse and a hard-working team of 12 admin staff. We pride ourselves on providing excellent patient care at all times and work hard to offer a wide range of services to suit the needs of our patients.

Due to retiral of our Senior Partner, we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated GP to join our team. There is the option for this post to be salaried or the option for partnership. Sessions are negotiable but we would ideally like the successful applicant to cover 8 sessions per week. We would hope to support any existing interests that successful applicants may have.

MATERNITY LOCUM GP

Millhill Surgery is based in the historic town of Dunfermline with easy access to the motorways to Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We work from purpose built premises. We are looking to recruit a GP to cover maternity leave from the beginning of January 2019 until the end of August 2019. These dates are negotiable and the post has the potential to be extended. The GP going on leave covers 8 sessions per week over 4 days.

This position may offer newly qualified GPs an opportunity to work in a supported environment to experience regular work whilst also exploring other opportunities. Our list size is approximately 9000 using EMIS and Docman. We have advanced nurse practitioners seeing out minor illness who support our GPs who are on 15 minute appointments.

We are a friendly team and the doctors meet several times during the day informally which allows the opportunity for catch up and continued learning. Our community staff are based in the practice including pharmacists, midwives, district nurses and health visitors.

Practice teaches Aberdeen and St Andrews students regularly.

We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP 6 to 9 sessions per week. We are willing to discuss flexible sessions/days.

You will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic group of GPs. We benefit from being a large practice with a team of 9 GP partners and 1 salaried GP. We employ unscheduled care practitioners, chronic disease nurses, a practice pharmacist and a mental health nurse to help with some of the work traditionally done by GPs. The practice has an excellent administrative set-up and is highly organised and efficient, and this is one of the benefits of working with us. We operate from two modern purpose built premises in Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay and run a consulting room facility one day per week in Aberdour.

There is easy parking in the local area when out and about on house calls.

Our main surgery at Inverkeithing is situated just across the Forth Road Bridge and is approximately 20 minutes commute from central Edinburgh and within easy reach from Perth/Stirling.

We achieved consistently high QOF points, Quality Practice Award and have recently worked through productive general practice to ensure the practice runs as efficiently as possible.
