4 FINGERS CRISPY CHICKEN

SWEE CHOON TIM SUM RESTAURANT

This is the editor’s personal favorite. A must try is the original flavor (soy garlic) chicken, which features deep fried crispy chicken coated with a sweet garlic sauce. For the chil-li lovers, you will love the spicy rendition of the same suc-culent meat wrapped in crunchy skin. Although some may find the price steep (ranging between $10-$20) as compared to KFC’s chicken value meals, the excellence of this small shop can be attested to by the everlastingly long queue.

FLOR PATISSERIE

Next, I’m sure you girls out there tend to resist temptations to SINFUL desserts due to its high sugar level. So to satisfy your cravings for desserts and also take into consideration of your weight, why not try fruity desserts instead?

The next place to introduce to you guys will be FLOR PATISSERIE: JAPANESE PATISSERIE SINGAPORE. Flor Patisserie by Chef Yamashita is a new Japanese Patisserie in Singapore. The talented chef was previously from the ever-popular Patisserie Glace, left and set up his own dessert place at the quaint Duxton Hill. They are famous for their Napoleon and Strawberry Souffle which are so heavenly that it is something you must order with every patronage.

Of course, they serve many other desserts with other fruits on it like mangoes, peaches and berries etc which you need to go down and have a look yourself! Patisserie Flor is located at the slope, right before the rows of Duxton Hill restaurants. The Japanese desserts are reasonably priced around $5-6 for each slice of cake which is considered reasonably affordable for students like us right?

There is something inherently enchanting about pretty desserts on a clean white plate. The photos you take will turn out nice and yummy too!

Plain Vanilla is a small retail space – i.e. no dining area – located on the second level of a shop house in Holland Village. Unlike its name, the cupcakes ($3.20 each, or $18 for six) at Plain Vanilla are hardly plain. They have nine different cupcakes (milk chocolate chip, carrot, red velvet, dark chocolate ganache, chocolate hazelnut, cinnamon brown sugar, strawberry white chocolate, milk chocolate banana, cookie and cream) available every day, with a few flavours rotating. So this is something you can look forward to when u head down to this place.

LASTLY, HAPPY DESSERT-HUNTING GUYS!

PART TIME JOBSINTERESTING“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” - Confucius

OHH-FOOOOOO! Once summer holidays arrive, that magical question surfaces – WHAT AM I GONNA DO???? You got 2 choices, work or bum around. If you intend to work here are some interesting part time jobs!

Ah yes the controversial pole dancing.

1) You must take up pole dancing lessons (I suggest you do this during school term and don’t tell anybody except post anonymously about it on nus confessions!)

2) Find a pole dancing venue or a place that will hire you (some clubs do hire pole dancers) oh and pole dancing schools actually have contacts on where you could work so it is good to approach your Xi Fu.

3) Not only do you get to earn money, YOU GET TO LOSE WEIGHT! BYE FLABS HELLO ABS!

4) Have fun!

Pole Dancing

Think about it! Ok maybe for the noobies they will probably start off as a barback (bartender’s assistant) and with enough experience you could be a part time bartender!

PROs- It’s the first time girls will actually try to flirt with you (cos you got something they want… vodka cranberry)- You can finally flirt with the ladies without them running away from you! They’re gonna come back to you wanting more (drinks)- Practice juggling at home and OMG you could be a small time circus act at the bar! You will be at the center of attention! Girls love this- Remember the time where you had to pay for the ladies drinks? Well now you actually can give it to them FOR FREE and hope your manager doesn’t see you doing that.

CONs- This job definitely messes with your body clock- You MIGHT go deaf from all the loud music

Bar-tender

You might want to abstain from 3 minute noodles after work….or maybe any noodle in general.

Part Time Lifeguard

Cybercafe AssistantThis is mostly for guys unless the ladies love gaming. OH-FOOOOOOO!

If you prefer living in the virtual world and your speech pattern includes stuff like “MMMMMMMONSTER KILL” “GGGGOOOOODDD – LIIIKEEEE” etc…. then maybe a cybercafé assistant might be good for you!

Think about it! During off peak periods (i.e. during school hours) when nobody is coming into the shop you could continue farming for your level 60 WoW character! WOOOWWWWW.

There are sooooo many cybercafés around Singapore and finding one shouldn’t be a problem. HAVE FUN!

You will need to be a certified lifeguard and to do that you need to undergo a lifesaving course preferably by the NUS Lifeguard Corps as they provide discounted life saving courses.

Fun, fun & more fun! Everland themepark is located in Yongin, South Korea. Fantasy buildings, thrill rides, zoo, seasonal gardens and many more! Under the sweltering summer heat, one can have fun out in the sun & enjoy the coolness of splashing water in the Caribbean bay water park which requires a separate entrance fee. Note that the toilet is jijibang style which is a combined public bath where everyone bath naked together! One drawback is the crowd in summer which requires one to queue awfully long for rides. It is still recommended since the outdoor part only opens in summer!

Moments of great beauty and unforgettable impressions will deeply move you. Cape Town is truly worth the splurge especially for graduation trip. Travel via the 12 Apostles and Hout Bay, as well as Chapman’s Peak – one of the region’s most dramatic mountain drives offering amazing panoramic views over the city and environment. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve is undoubtedly the must go place. It is widely perceived as the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans. There is also Table Mountain which is a sandstone plateau rising up above the Cape Flats. Definitely the place to unwind before entering the working world!

Not enough time to shop during the academic semester? Konichiwa! Tokyo, which is one of the best shopping cities in Asia other than the usual – Bangkok & Hong Kong, is a modern and cosmopolitian city of skyscrapers, neon, large departmental stores and numerous bars and clubs.
