EP AIR CENTERSwith AIR LINES

SeaTrek EP Systems offer redundant levels of reserve air supply and safety. A digital controller monitors air delivery and will automatically react to a low pressure condition, or power loss, and automatically engage a full compliment of air cylinders to easily complete a tour. A low-voltage signaling system will notify staff that the

system is operating on reserve air using both audible and visual alarms at the water entry point. The SeaTrek Air Centers are also extremely quiet emitting only 75 decibels at 3 feet of distance.

The system is built to the highest worldwide standards; it is CE Marked, and meets all UL, ASME standards or directives.

EP Systems available in 50 or 60Hz systems, with the following helmet capacities:

• EP-1 (5.0)—15 helmets max • EP-1 (7.5)—20 helmets max• EP-2 (5.0)—30 helmets max • EP-2 (7.5)—40 helmets max• • •

• Ideal for spacious and /or open aquarium environments• Easier—no refilling or changing out air cylinders• Unlimited air supply—no time limit for tour duration• Lighter on guests (no backpack or scuba tank)• Faster turn-around time

SELF-CONTAINED SYSTEMwithout AIR LINES

The Self-Contained System incorporates an integrated air supply secured to a stainless steel backpack. A continuous flow of air is supplied to each helmet, without air lines to the surface.

• Better for overhangs, artificial obstructions or bridges in the aquarium environment• More suitable where there isn’t room for an air delivery system

The SeaTrek tour

All SeaTrek tours begin with a health questionnaire, orientation and safety briefing. After the 10-minute orientation, Trekkers enter the water for a 20-25 minute guided tour. Post-tour, Trekkers are able to share their experience with the SeaTrek staff and have the opportunity to purchase photos, videos and branded merchandise.

Typical tour schedule

0:00-0:05 Tour group arrives at the staging area. SeaTrek staff welcomes guests and prepares for water entry.

0:05-0:15 A SeaTrek staff member leads an orientation and safety briefing using a video presentation. Each guest is fitted with a wet suit and Crocs® shoes (whenever foot protection is needed).

0:15-0:40 Guests enter the water and begin the underwater tour. Up to three “highlight moment” stops are planned along the tour path.

0:40-0:45 Trekkers exit the water. First-in, first-out.

*0:45-0:60 Trekkers share their experience in the SeaTrek comment book. Participants can view a video of their experience, as well as purchase photos and branded merchandise.

* If back-to-back tours are offered, new tour groups can begin the briefing process while the previous tour is underwater. A new tour could begin as frequently as every 1/2 hour.

How will guests enter the water?• Guests enter the water via vertical ladder (facing).• Each guest descends the ladder until the water is at shoulder level. Once the helmet is lowered onto the guest’s shoulders, he or she continues to descend with the aid of the safety diver or SeaTrek Guide.

Where will SeaTrek participants walk?• Participants will walk along a predetermined path.

Trekkers in the aquarium

• Installing a platform, pavers or walkway may be advised to minimize turbidity or suspension of particulates.

How much aspiration will be released from the helmets into the aquarium?

• A continuos flow of 1.7 cfm of air is aspirated through each helmet.

What power is required by the Sea Trek® system?• Standard SeaTrek system requirements:

(1) 220 volt / single phase / 60 hertz OR(1) 400 volt / 3 phase / 50 hertz

Will participants wear full wet suits?• In most cases participants will be asked to wear a full wet suit and foot protection.• The wet suit will help reduce bioload introduction into the aquarium.

How will SeaTrek affect animals in an aquarium? • After the initial acclimation, SeaTrek has proven to have no adverse affects on the marine life.• Trekkers have a similar presence as the divers that frequently clean and maintain the tank.• Through the acclimation process, the SeaTrek activity is introduced to the animals of the aquarium. This gradual process will yield the least amount of stress on inhabitants.

Are there any affects on stationary invertebrate animals in the aquarium?

• Participants will walk along a defined path therefore avoiding touching or bumping any aquarium structures.

• The SeaTrek system is available in a self-contained backpack unit eliminating the concern for air line contact.

Will guests be allowed to touch the animals?• According to the aquarium’s standards, guests may or may not be allowed to touch or handle marine life.• SeaTrek standards inform guests to only handle marine life if allowed to do so.

Are there any chemicals in the helmet that may be harmful to the aquarium animals?

• No; helmets are injection molded from poly-carbonate.

Safety Staff and Participants

SeaTrek safetyEvery delivery of a SeaTrek system includes comprehensive training and certification of Guides and Safety Staff. All conceivable emergency condition responses are simulated, trained and practiced to assure the SeaTrek staff are confident in their daily touring activities. The training certification is rigorous and is concluded with a written exam and practical review. Sub Sea Systems is a dive training agency with fully published training and certification standards insured by the same insurance provider as the largest dive training agency in the world.
