First Responders Recongnized for CPR
Save in Blairstown
(article from 1strespondernews.com)
On Thursday, February 22, 2018, the
Blairstown Ambulance Corps. was
dispatched to a home in their town-
ship for a report of a cardiac emer-
gency. Upon arrival at the scene, the
Blairstown Squad found Blairstown
PD doing CPR. Two shocks had been
delivered. Blairstown Squad members
assisted PD in rescue breathing for
the patient. Knowlton Rescue and
Blairstown Hose Co. #1 assisted with
equipment and manpower.
CPR was continued on scene with PD
and an additional five shocks were
delivered before ROSC (Return of
Spontaneous Circulation) was
achieved. This activity lasted 16
minutes. The patient was then loaded
into an ambulance and transport was
started. While enroute to the hospi-
tal, the Blairstown Squad met up with
paramedics from St. Clare's (Medic
55). The patient was still maintaining
a pulse and transport was continued
to the hospital, where patient care
was then transferred to the awaiting
cardiac unit. It was truly a team
effort.
A pinning ceremony took place on
April 17th to recognize all those in-
volved. CPR Save Pins were presented
by Captain Joe Digrazia to Blairstown

Looking for extra benefits to give your members?
Provident has an excellent way of doing that! It’s a 24-accidental death and dismemberment policy and best of all its very afford-
able! For $10,000 in coverage its around $12.35 per member, $25,000 of coverage is $26.95 per member and it can also be paid for
by relief funds.
Many emergency service organizations seek benefits for their members to provide a source of financial protection in case some-
thing goes wrong and as a way to recruit and retain members.
This coverage can be an important addition to the benefits you already make available to your members. At a time of need, this
policy can offer additional financial protection and help provide support that could make a lasting difference for the member
and his/her loved ones.
Here are some of the highlights of the plan:
24-hour coverage including any fire call related covered incidents. The death benefit doubles in the event of a LODD.
Paralysis and burn benefit
Home Alteration benefit
Emergency Medical Evacuation if you are over 100 miles away from home
Burial and cremation benefit of $5,000
Travel Assistance Services
Plus, many other benefits!
This is an excellent supplemental policy to reward your members and auxiliary. A nice way to say thank you for giving up your
time to help the community and best of all it covers you 24-hours a day.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Wes(215-317-8414) or Kevin(484-239-5572). Like this plan we are available 24-hours
a day, seven days a week!
