Nataniël: When Giants Wa z In When Giants Waltz, singer, songwriter and storyteller, Nataniël, will look at the age-old phenomenon of the big versus the small, the ever-present struggle between the indestructible and the threatened, the constant war between the individual and the establishment, the tiring debate between the political and the intelligent. Using his trademark stylistic lighting and dramatic wardrobe, Nataniël, along with Charl du Plessis (piano), Juan Oosthuizen (guitar), Werner Spies (bass) and Peter Auret (drums), will perform music from the endless catalogue of blues and jazz evergreens, pop classics and original songs.

ArtsAbility FestivalNow in its fi fth year, the Unmute ArtsAbility Festival presents world-class, collaborative, artistic works by artists with mixed abilities. This multi-disciplinary arts festival uses dance, live music, poetry, visual art, fi lm, fashion design, art installations, theatre and site-specifi c performances as a medium to challenge people’s state of mental-misconception on disability and encourages people to break barriers and inspire an integrated/inclusive society.
This year’s theme, SHIFT, aims to shift people’s perception of what performance is believed to look like, and where they should be performed. Performances will be held at Artscape Theatre, as well as in some of the townships the artists hail from. Venues in the townships will be transformed into performance spaces, giving people access and freedom to express and showcase their arts in their own spaces.
Presented by Unmute Dance TheatreAssociates Artscape Theatre Centre, Theatre in the Backyard, KASI RC and SOCIGO (Hands Festival).
