Please note that the last day for building activities with contractors will be the 11th of December 2015. Please make your arrangements and inform your contractor of this period and your pool builder as well as your landscaper or your air-con installer etc.The idea is to have preferably only once-off emergency contractors on site when required.
There are various reasons for this arrangement: • Give the owners a bit of rest and peace from building activities, trucks, loud noises and contractors. • Give the residents the privacy to spend time next to the pool as a family or with friends without people looking down from a roof or through the fence. • There are also safety reasons here. Many people are away over this period and these properties will get noticed quickly should there be contractors working on a daily basis in the estate. The contractor’s gate will close at 6pm on the 11th and all emergency contractors or small delivery trucks should use the visitor’s gate please. The domestics and gardeners registered on the biometric system will still use the turnstile as always.

Can Solar Geyser save money? Let us assume a family of four people in Irene Glen Estate uses approximately R2 400.00 per month in electricity at the present time. Statistically it shows on average 60% of that (an amount of R1 440.00) is spent on heating water.
Electricity is measured in KWh, your average 150L geyser uses a 3 kW element. If this element is on for one hour you will consume 1 (h) x 3 (kW) = 3 kWh. A Family of 4 people, two adults and two children will each take a shower of 8 minutes at least once a day
consuming approximately 18L of water per minute of shower. Of that (18 x 7) 126L of water about 50L is hot water from the geyser if water is heated to 60ºC. This is just for showering, there is still a need for hot water during the day for other things like dish washing, etc.A Solartherm system by SolarX could save you up to 80% of the R1 440.00 water heating cost – which works out to R1 152.00 per month or a staggering R 13 824.00 per annumOver a mere 5 Year period, this is an amount of R 52 080.00!
