3. They have surprise endings that challenge our way of thinking.

The Parables

1.Remember Jesus is the fullness of Divine Revelation

2.Remember all 73 books of the Bible point to Jesus.

3. Notice how the Parable of the Good Samaritan, Luke 10: 25-37 takes Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Deuteronomy to a deeper, or higher level.

Psalm 130 :-2

Out of the depths I call to you Lord.

Lord, listen to my cry for help!

Listen compassionately to my pleading!

Deuteronomy 6:5– Part of Shema

You must love the Lord Your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength and with all your mind……………………and your neighbor as yourself ( Leviticus 19.18).

Proverbs 3:27-28

Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.”

Two are better than one,

because they have a good return for their work:

 

Ecclesiastes 4:9

If one falls downhis friend can help him up.

But pity the man who falls

and has no one to help him up.

 

Ecclesiastes 4:10

Also, if two lie down together,

they will keep warm.But how can one

keep warm alone? 

Ecclesiastes 4:11

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend

themselves. A cord of three strands is not

quickly broken.  

Ecclesiastes 4:12

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers

of mine, you did for me.”
