We could not have asked for a more perfect morning for our “Ride Back In Time” at the beautiful Alisal Ranch. One hundred and seventeen Center friends and members rode up to the old Alisal adobe on horses and hay wagons to enjoy a very special morning of cowboy storytelling, music, adobe tour, lively live auction, great food and fellowship.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this gorgeous morning as we begin our journey together to raise funds for our new Center.

A huge thank you goes out to Kathleen Cochrane of the Alisal Ranch for making this event possible-a rare treat for the public. And another special thank you to Art Green for stepping in to help with the auction and also sharing his gift of music.

A note from Ellen…

“ Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!” (Dr. Suess).

Following a long standing pre-Danish Days’ tradition, the Vikings served their delicious Danish dinner of medisterpole sausage, frik’adellers, red cabbage, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet cucumbers, fried on-ions, salad and dinner rolls. And of course, what would this traditional meal be with-out a slice of heaven-Bent Olsen’s layer cake.

Members also enjoyed meeting the 2019 Danish Maid, Gillian Nielsen, who comes from a longtime local family and a long line of Danish maids. Everyone enjoyed her sweet smile and purchasing tickets to sup-port her efforts.

Our wonderful hosts were kept extra busy this year as they served a full house of 75 members and guests. Everyone appreciated

the fantastic meal and comradery of Vice-Chief Richard Kline and his fourteen brother Vikings. Their generosity goes beyond their blue blazers and aprons as they fulfill their mission of addressing the Valley’s underserved and those with medical needs.

Thank you Vikings and we look forward to singing “Han Skal Leve” with you next year.

*********************************************************************************************Thank you Center and Community members for your support of the Center. Your generosity enables us to provide you and your friends with many wonderful opportunities to spend quality time together.
