ObedienceGordon Setters are intelligent, energetic and devoted companions. We recommend basic obedience training for any Gordon Setter, but if you are looking for a fun way to challenge yourself and your dog, then you will both enjoy the competitive Obedience and Rally Obedience trials.

Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) Gordon Setters are very attached to their family members, but may be wary of strangers. The CGN-certified Gordon Setter will have good manners at home, in public places and in the presence of other dogs.

Agility training Because Gordon Setters are so in tune with their owners, and are such active dogs, they excel in agility. It’s exciting and rewarding to see your Gordon fly over jumps and race through obstacles, responding to just voice and hand signals. It’s a great workout for both dog and human!

Pointing Tests & Trials The Gordon Setter energetically works the field to find game birds, and freezes in position to ‘point’ the bird’s location. With training, he holds his place while the bird is flushed and then retrieves on command. It’s a joy to watch your Gordon Setter do what he was bred for, either in trials, or working as your personal gun dog!

Conformation shows Every Gordon Setter owner knows how beautiful his dog is. Maybe a dog show is where you fell in love with your first Gordon Setter.
