The Gospel According to Paul

He was concerned for them spiritually

Romans 1:8-11First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of

you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. 9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with

my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you 10 always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at

last succeed in coming to you. 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to

strengthen you—Romans 1:13

I want you to know, brothers,  that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been

prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as well as among the rest of the

Gentiles

He was concerned for them spiritually

Job of teaching includes interest and desire..i.e. Paul wanted “fruit”

John 4Willingness to talk to a

Samaritan outcast?Matthew 20:29-34

Leaving a “busy” crowd to show compassion?

2 Corinthians 2:12-13Remaing “unrested”

until a matter was resolved

He was concerned for them spiritually

Job of teaching includes interest and desire..i.e. Paul wanted “fruit”

He appreciated their faith, it was “proclaimed”

Paul expected to give/get encouragement

• The main means of upbuilding one’s

faith is the association with other Christians

• Acts 2:46-47- they were “daily”

meeting in the temple and in their

homes• Hebrews 10:23-25-

“considering” is invalid unless we

“stimulate”

Paul expected to give/get encouragement

They were having problems

• 2:1, 17-23- racial tension

• Ch. 14-15- maturity issues• Ch. 6- worldly

pressures

2 Peter 1:3His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to

life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, For answers?

1 Peter 5:7 …casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for

you. For relief?Hebrews 4:15-16

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every

respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to

help in time of need. For grace?

Paul didn’t subscribe to silence for any reason

1 Timothy 1:18This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good

warfare,Ephesians 5:11

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

Romans 2:6He will render to each one according to his works:

Teaching Those we appreciate Those with problems Those not

established Resisting the

influence of evil

Have you accepted it?

Romans 1:16For I am not ashamed

of the gospel, for it is the power of God for

salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to

the Greek.
