Dear Friends at CBC,
Thank you so much for your prayers, thoughts and calls during
my surgery. It means a lot to have Christian friends.
Thank you also for the meal you sent last Wed. night. It was
really a blessing and Melody and her staff do such a good job.
God bless each of you.
Love, Sharon Matthews
Dear Church Family,
We cherish all the love, prayers, cards, food, calls and visits
bestowed on us during Leona White’s illness and passing.
Thank you, Melody & ladies, for the lunch you provided our
family.
It is through all of you that we experience God’s love.
In Christ,
Nancy Bartholomew & Family
Dear Central Baptist, Thank you so much for allowing us to utilize your facility for our annual Spiritual Seekers Woman’s Conference. This means so much to us. We pray that you will be continually blessed as you open your arms and your doors for us. Blessings, Spiritual Seekers
Dear Pastor Alan, Damon and members of Central Baptist Church;
I want to thank everyone for their visits, prayers, cards & phone
calls, and every expression of concern for Pauline & I during my
stay in the hospital. You all made an unpleasant experience,
outstanding, and we thank you for making it so.
Love to all.
Dwain & Pauline Collins
May I express my heartfelt thanks to each of you, who prayed for
me, visited me in the hospital, rehab, and in my home, for
bringing food to me, taking me to the dentist and medical
doctors, shopping for necessities, and seeing that all need were
met. I’m thankful for our church staff who took time from their
busy schedule to visit with me and to pray with me, God is still
healing my new replaced right knee after the removal of the
“worn out knee”, Special Thanks to, Pastor McAlister and Pastor
Brooks.

Our Benevolent Fund has changed.
The Benevolent Fund will now be used to help with special
needs. Our food bank has been transferred to Matt 25. You
may still donate to the food bank, please specify when doing so.
THE GREAT COMMISSION
One of the most important statements Jesus ever made is found in Matthew 28:18-20:
All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and
lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
This proclamation, known as the Great Commission, is Jesus’ instructions to His disciples to go out and spread the
message of salvation to those who have never heard and to train those who accept the message to be His disciples. Not
only was this message meant for the original followers of Jesus Christ but for everyone throughout history who would place
their faith in Him, including us. So what is our church doing to fulfill this Great Commission?
Well, in addition to spreading the gospel to those in our community and surrounding areas through local ministries, our
church is involved in global missions through a ministry to the country of Belize. Since 2004, our church has taken groups
to Belize to work on homes, schools, and orphanages, and to share the gospel using the Story Cloth. This year the Lord
has opened an opportunity for us to instruct the nation’s teachers on how to use the Story Cloth to tell the story of Jesus to
students in their schools. This has the potential to reach every child and adult in Belize with the message of salvation!
Partnering with the Vine Community Church, we will carry out this amazing work July 30 – August 6.
If you’d like to join the group for this trip, you can contact Alan McAlister or Derek Osburn. Or if you can’t go but would still
like to support the trip, our church has come up with a fun way to raise money called Bowling for Belize. It will be held on
Sunday, June 6th, from 5-8 pm at MainLine Bowl. The cost is $15 per person and there will be prizes given to the team
with the best score. Food will also be provided. Please plan on joining us for this time of fellowship and fun! You can sign
up through the church office or in the church Foyer.
Throughout history, the Lord has shown that when His people come together to do His will great things happen. As Central
Baptist Church and the Vine Community Church work together to fulfill the Great Commission in Belize, let’s support them
by praying, giving, and going Bowling for Belize!
