WELCOME TO THE GREAT NORTHERN CREATIVE FESTIVAL The Great Northern Creative Festival (TGNCF) returns for a second time to showcase creative talent in media, film, screenwriting, photography, journalism and performance. TGNCF has evolved from a commitment to promote and showcase the creative talent that has been developed at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, and also to introduce to the world the fantastic students and professionals that we have working at UCLan and to open our doors to the city, to the North and the world beyond. Once again, TGNCF will introduce a variety of talent which will include film, photography, media, television, journalism and animation, offering performances, workshops, masterclasses, music, monologues, networking - and inspiration - to one and all. TGNCF has attracted some of the leading creative talent - nationally and internationally - and we are pleased to offer staff, students and guests the opportunity to share a stimulating experience of creative talent which can be viewed, evaluated and enjoyed by everyone.

THURSDAY 12 NOVEMBER

NORTHERN PREMIERE SCREENING OF INCONTROVERTIBLE FOLLOWED BY Q&A WITH TONY ROOKE, 9/11 CAMPAIGNER, AND MATT CAMPBELL, RELATIVE OF 9/11 VICTIM; HOSTED BY SCREENWRITING COURSE LEADER BILL MCCOID1.00 - 4.00pm, Media Factory 210

Incontrovertible, a new feature-length documentary by British filmmaker Tony Rooke, receives its northern premiere at The Great Northern Creative Festival. The film is the first crowd-funded project to feature original interviews with police officers, firefighters and politicians who voice their grave concerns over the ‘official’ version of events of 9/11.

The film, shot in numerous US cities and many countries around the world, follows the journey of 9/11 victim family member and UK citizen Matt Campbell whose brother Geoff perished in the North Tower of the World Trade Centre. It tells how he encounters those who gave their lives to law enforcement and civic duty, only to realise the awful reality of just who their superiors are. The film is designed to serve as a clarion call to all in the Police Service, the Fire Departments and to the military.

Narrated by the accomplished British stage and screen actor Michael Culver, Incontrovertible is as forthright, as it is terrifying, as it is full of hope.

CPL ANIMATE

UCLan Animation graduate James Millington and his managing director will be on hand for students to show and discuss their showreels and CVs.

“I’m an animator hailing from Liverpool, with a passion for animation, football and drinking fancy tea. Also a bit of a traveller at heart, I disappeared to the other side of the world for a while after graduating from UCLan. Which was fun apart from the slave labour banana picking! Alas the exploring ended a little closer to home than expected at CPL Animate, where I've been enjoying drawing and animating ever since.”
