The Great Wall Of China

The Great Wall Of China is the largest handmade monument ever to be built. It is the only one visible from space.

The Great Wall Of China was build 220 B.C. and 1368-1644 A.D.

The King, Qin Shi Huang, was in charge of the idea behind the building of the Great Wall Of China. Men from all over China were forced to leave their homes to come to build this great project.

The Great Wall Of China was built to link existing forts into a united defense system and better keep invading Mongol tribes out of China.

Much of the Great Wall of China was built with bricks, tiles, lime, and stone. Cut stones formed the foundation, outside portions of the wall, and gates, with used on the inside, as stone could hold weight better.

This 4,160 mile long wall was built to protect China from invading Huns, Mongols, and other tribes and to unite forts into one defense system.
