Nuremberg was shown in Germany in 1948-49, but US goverment officals suppressed the American version for political reasons. Over the years the original negative was lost or destroyed. Schulberg & Waletzky made a new negative from the best German print and reconstructed the soundtrack so you can hear the defendants’ and prosecutors’ voices for the first time.
