In April of 2016, an official announcement was made that restricted free agent and outside linebacker Lerentee McCray signed with the Packers. The former Denver Broncos defender spent his rookie season on the bench with an ankle injury before taking the field for two seasons with the team. He played 24 regular season and four post season games, making one and a half sacks and 24 tackles during that time.

posed challenges. Namely, playing time would be limited due to an existing roster of four other outside linebackers.
His Green Bay contract includes a minimum salary of $675,000 as well as a signing bonus of $50,000 and a workout bonus of $75,000. The contract reflects general manager Ted Thompson’s confidence in the player, who he praised on snaps and athletic ability.
