What is the government doing?
Government announced in October 2010 to grant full excise duty exemptions on Hybrid Cars
How do Hybrid Cars help the environment?
Oil is a limited resource that not only has to be refined from the environment but italso creates carbon emissions when burned.
How does usage of Oil affect the environment?
There is only so much more oil available from our current sources and as such more and more political pressure is being introduced to drill in protected lands and offshore. This could potentially be devastating to the natural wildlife in these areas
Conclusion
With the use of hybrid cars not only is there a reduction of carbon emissions, but improving even 5 mpg on every car in the United States could save nearly 2 million barrels of oil every day.

Info on Campaign
Tele Dynamics Sdn Bhd (Tele Dynamics) joins the ranks of the ‘green’ advocates with its very own Toshiba e-STUDIO, ‘Empower the Environment Tree-Planting Green Campaign’ at Kepong Botanical Gardens, adjacent to Forest Research Insitute of Malaysia (FRIM).
Tele Dynamics’ Electronic Imaging Division pledged to plant one tree for Bukit Hari Tree Reserve Project for every Toshiba e-STUDIO Multi Function Printer System sold. The initial pledge was 500 trees. The green campaign coincided with Tele Dynamics’ 30th anniversary in Malaysia.
The project is in sync with Toshiba Group’s 1.5 million tree-planting project, a worldwide forest development project to mark the 150th anniversary of Toshiba Group.
This year also marks the International Year of Forests, which is recognised by the United Nations and the Toshiba e-STUDIO’s green campaign supports the 40th World Forestry Day launched by FRIM earlier.

![Page 16: The Green Story - Malaysia](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022051816/5475684eb4af9fb90a8b5b26/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)

How this helps? This can help to decrease deforestation and mitigate climate change. Simply put, reducing the demand for paper can help decrease the incentives for producers to chop down trees

The Conclusion
Its a trend that is growing by the day among brands and corporation. This can be seen by the amount of money they are spending on their go green campaigns and the prizes they give out.
Among individuals, going green is still of the minorities. However, people do respond to incentives to go green i.e. contest with prizes
