O nce again our annual pilgrim- age takes off to the famous Ano Nuevo beach to observe the largest mainland- breeding colony of Northern Elephant seals. The males battle for mates on the beaches and the females give birth to their pups on the dunes. It is a unique and unfor- gettable natural spectacle that thou- sands of people witness every year. During the breeding season, (12/15 - 3/31), daily access to the Reserve is available only via docent guided walks. HCSF has only 20 tickets for this out- ing. Please pay in advance. $15 per per- son includes roundtrip bus transporta- tion to the Reserve and docent tour. Tickets will be distributed at the Hillsdale bus stop. No tickets will be sold on site so reserve your ticket now. Very Important details: Bring your own lunch, snacks and water. There is a gift shop at the Reserve, but no food is available. Please wear good walking shoes and rain gear but NO umbrellas (not allowed). Please park on Hillsdale Blvd about a block West - all day, no time limits. Eric is an attorney at the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) for The Regents of the University of California where he supervises com- mercial litigation. Before joining the OGC in late 1981, Eric was an attor- ney with the law firm of Ripley and Diamond in San Francisco. Eric and his family live in Piedmont where Eric has served as Co-Chair of the Harvard Schools and Scholarships Committee for the past ten years.. His wife, Joyce Hicks, is the Director of the Oakland Citizens' Police Review Board, and his two children, Philip '04 and Michelle '07 are currently attend- ing Harvard.
