The Shoaffs—Sonlight Ministries: Dear Friends – It is with heavy hearts that we write this letter to you. Our family has made the sad and difficult decision not to return to Haiti with Sonlight Ministries. Recently, we have been made aware of serious problems within the leadership of our organization. The Founder and President of Sonlight Ministries, Roger Alexander, came to our missionary staff on April 26 with an admission of marital unfaithfulness that occurred many years ago. At the time of the affair, Roger and his family elected to keep this sin a secret from the Board of Directors, the church, mis-sionary staff at the time, and the Haitian community at large. Though Roger has been forgiven, we believe that critical decisions needed to be made by the leadership when this news was brought to light. After consultation with the Vice President of the Board regarding how to move forward in a Godly and healthy manner, we awaited the de-cision and plan of the full board. After receiving the decision of the Board, it became clear to us that we were not in agreement with the plan for the leadership and ministry here in Haiti. Due to the decisions of the Board, we cannot any longer submit to the authority of the organization, and sadly, we must remove ourselves from the ministry here in Haiti. We were completely surprised by this turn of events and had not been making any plans whatsoever to leave the field at this time. We are left with many questions surrounding our future and have difficult, but necessary decisions to make for our family. We covet your prayers during this most difficult of times – our hearts are completely broken. Because we are not sure about our immediate future, we are humbly asking our supporters to prayerfully consider continuing financial sup-port for the next six months to allow us time to secure employment, housing, and school for Andrew and Grace. We will receive our final

salary deposit from Sonlight Ministries on June 30, 2018. After this time, we will no longer be affiliated with Sonlight. If you would choose to continue financial support for our family, please contact us via e-mail ([email protected]) to discuss the giving options cur-rently available to us. We want to thank you for your faithful support, partnership, friend-ship, love and prayers for Team Shoaff over the past five, wonderful years. We have been extremely blessed by your generosity and love towards us and by our ministry in Haiti. We are forever changed. Please feel free to contact us personally at the e-mail above if you have further questions or concerns. We will be returning to the States on May 23, 2018. Again, we thank you so very, very much. With much Love and Appreciation – Rob and Cindy Shoaff and family “Team Shoaff”

Important Mission News

The Brittons—His Love Ethiopia: The Britton Family will be returning home

for a few months this summer for some much needed rest and for making minis-try plans and contacts. They are currently facing new challenges as Shalom is be-ing forced unexpectedly to find new accommodations for the orphanage. This challenge is more than an inconvenience, it places the entire orphanage at risk. Also, finding a place that will meet their needs at a price that is affordable will be a daunting task. We encourage you to be in prayer for this urgent situa-tion. T.J. & Leah will be providing a more detailed update on their current situation along with news of some exciting things that God is doing in Ethiopia.
