THE HOLY PROPHET {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} ISSURELY NOOR: Lecture by: Dr. Syed Hamid Hussain Naqvi Subzwari Ph.D UK
Some persons believe that the Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him andUpon His Holy Progeny} is only a human being and not Noor (light). They say so based on the reasonthat the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} had wives,
had children, and he used to eat and drink according to the Aqeeda of some sects.
The being and existence of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon HisHoly Progeny} is even before that of human beings, but when he came into this world he came in the garbof a human being.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}has stated,
"The very first thing which Almighty Allah created was my Noor."(Tafseer Roohul Bayaan; Madarijun Nabuiwat)
Once Hazrat Jaabir (radi Allahu anhu) asked the Holy Prophet {Peace andBlessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} whom AllahTa'ala created before anything else. The Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peaceand Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} stated: "OJaabir! Verily, before the creation of anything else, Almighty Allah createdthe Noor of your Nabi from His Noor." (Muwahibul Laduniya; Zirkani Shareef)
The Sahaba of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}lived with him and observed him with his wives and children. They saw him eating, drinking, talking, etc.
but still accepted him to be Noor.
We know that Hazrat Jibraeel (alaihis salaam) is made of Noor but when he used to appear before HazratMaryam (radi Allahu anha) he used to appear in the form of a human being. Allah Ta'ala states in theHoly Quran: "Thus he used to appear before her in the form of a healthy (well-built) man." (Part 16, Ruku5)
Hazrat Umar Farouk (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that once a person came before them. The Holy ProphetMuhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} asked him if heknew who that person was, he replied: "Allah Ta'ala and His beloved Rasool {Peace and Blessing of Allahbe Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} know better." The Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah beUpon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} said that it was Jibraeel (alaihis salaam). (Mishkaat; BukhariShareef)
This Hadith proves that although the Sahaba referred to Hazrat Jibraeel (alaihis salaam) as a man sincethey saw him in the form of a human being, yet they accepted that he was in actual fact an Angel madefrom Noor. On many instances, he came in the form of Sahabi-e-Rasool named Hazrat Wahia Kalbi (radiAllahu anhu).
Syeda Halima Sa'adiya (radi Allahu anha), the wet-nurse of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing ofAllah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}, believed the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allahbe Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} to be Noor. She said that when she used to feed the HolyProphet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} milk of goat in his

infancy, she never felt the need for a light in her house. (Bayaanul Miladun Nabwi; Tafseer Mazhari).Syeda Safiya (radi Allahu anha), the aunt of the Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allahbe Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} states that on the eve of the birth of the Holy ProphetMuhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} she was present inhis house. She said that she saw his Noor became more powerful than the light from the lamp.(Shawaahidun Nubuiwat)
Hazrat Ali Murtuza (Elahis Salam) said that when the Beloved of Allah {Peace and Blessing of Allah beUpon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} spoke, Noor (light) used to be seen emerging from between hisblessed teeth. (Muwahibul Laduniya; Anwaarul Muhammadiyah)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) states that when the beloved Prophet {Peace and Blessing ofAllah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} smiled, then the walls use to glow with his Noor.(Muwahibul Laduniya; Shifa Shareef)
Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) states that the day in which the Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah beUpon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} arrived in Madinatul Munawwarah, everything in MadinatulMunawwarah became bright through his Noor. (Tirmizi Shareef; Ibn Majah)
Ummul Mo'mineen, Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) is recorded to have said: "In total dark nights, I used
to put the thread into a needle with the help of the Noor of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allahbe Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}." (Shara Shifa Bar Hashia Naseemur Riaz)
Hazrat Imam-e-Azam Abu Hanifa (radi Allahu anhu) praises the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing ofAllah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} in the following poem: "You are that Noor that the fullMoon is brightened by your Noor and you are with your beauty and elegance a shining sun." (QasidaulNu'maan)
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari (radi Allahu anhu) reports: I asked: "O Prophet of Allah {Peace andBlessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}, What did the Almighty Allah first create?"The Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} replied: "Allah firstcreated my Noor (Light) of His Noor. This Noor travelled about according to the Will of Allah. At that time, there was no Heaven, Hell, Lawh (Divine Tablet), Pen, Earth, Skies, Sun, Moon, Jinn or Human Beings.
When He decided to create, He divided that Noor into four parts. From one part He created the Pen, fromthe second, the Lawh and from the third, he made the Arsh (Throne).
"He divided the fourth part into a further four parts. From one, He created those Angels who carry theArsh, from the second, the Kursi (Divine Chair) and from the third, He created the Angels."He again divided the remaining parts into a further four parts. From one, He created the skies. Thesecond was used in creating the planets. From the third, Heaven and Earth were created."Once again, He divided the fourth part into a further four parts. From one part He created the power withwhich the believers see. From the second, He created in the hearts of the Believers the Noor of Marifat. From the third, He created in the tongues of the Believers, Noor, so that they can read the Kalima ofTauheed". (Dalaa'il-un-Nubuwwat, Imam Baihaqi)
This astonishing Hadith Shareef proves that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah {Peace and Blessing of Allah be
Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} is the life of this world and everything in it. When he is the life ofthis world, then everything that happens in it is clear to him and nothing is concealed from him. Who thencan deny that he is not Noor (light)?

Q:HOW can PROPHET MuhammadPeace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and UponHis Holy Progeny} be Noor and Human at the same time, prove from Quran andhadith {Asked by Ali Abbas and Ali Erslan of Chinyot Punjab, Student ofMaster classes at Beacon House University Lahore Pakistan through Mr.
Saleem Abbas}
ANSWER:
My Dear Friends I am writing the faith of Sunnis for yourreference while you are lover of Commander of the FaithfulHazrat Ali Elahis Salam: Be a true Shia, dont doubt on HolyFamily:,
Surah Ta Ha {20} Verses: {17}.
"And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" {18.} He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean;
with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." {19.} ((Allah)) said,
"Throw it, O Moses!" {20.} He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. {21.}
((Allah)) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition."
Surah Ta Ha {20} Verses: {65.} "They said: "O Moses! whether wilt thou that thou throw
(first) or that we be the first to throw?" {66.} He said, "Nay, throw ye first!" Then behold
their ropes and their rods-so it seemed to him on account of their magic - began to be in
lively motion!{ 67.} So Moses conceived in his mind a (sort of) fear. {68.} We said: "Fear
not! for thou hast indeed the upper hand: {69.} "Throw that which is in thy right
hand: Quickly will it swallow up that which they have faked what they have faked is but a
magician's trick: and the magician thrives not, (no matter) where he goes."
Surah An-Naml {27} Verse 10: "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving
(of its own accord)as if it had been a SNAKE, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his
steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as apostles
have no fear."
Al Qasas {28} Verse 31: "Now do thou throw thy rod!" but when he saw it moving (of its
own accord) as if it had been a SNAKE, he turned back in retreat,
THe above snake was a rod; with the order of ALLAH, it converted into snake.. this snake
was a real snake made by ALLAH. Its used to eat, drink and was a living creature
when it was a rod. It nevere ate or drink anything because it was living at that time...

PROPHET SAW is NOOR/light according to quran and hadiths
PROOF 1
Quran says:
We sent you not but as a mercy for all the worlds." (Holy Qur'an, 21:107)
above Quranic verse is saying...mercy for all the worlds...not mercy only for UMMAH OF
PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) ..... this clearly proves that PROHPET
MUHAMMAD ( ) is mercy for angels...animals and all worlds....it clearly
indicates that HE ( ) is Noor from which this universe is made, ...
Explaining above verse from classical scholars
" " "
"
,
Alusi (al-Sayyid Mahmud) in his commentary of Qur'an entitled Ruh al-ma`ani (17:105 of
the Beirut edition) said under 21:107:
,
"The Prophet's being a mercy to all is linked to the fact that he is the intermediary of the
divine outpouring over all contingencies [i.e. all created things without exception], from the
very beginnings (wasitat al-fayd al-ilahi `ala al-mumkinat `ala hasab al-qawabil), and that
is why his light was the first of all things created, as stated in the report that "The first
thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet, O Jabir," and also cited is: "Allah is the
Giver and I am the Distributor."
,
Allama Alusi also cites the hadith of Jabir as evidence in another passage of Ruh al-ma`ani

EVERY single thing in the universe

hope everyone agrees with this but then I found this verse of 21:Al-Anbiy`(The
Prophets)verse 107
PROOF 3
Quran says
{ }
,
'O people of the Book! Undoubtedly, Our Messenger has come to you who makes clear to
you much of that which you had hidden in the Book and pardons much. Undoubtedly,
there has come to you from Allah a light and a Book, luminous. (quran 5:15)]
Here the light is mentioning PROPHET MUHAMMAD ( ) ,some may argue
that sunni give their own meaning to this verse and the word light doesnt means PROPHET
MUHAMMAD ( )
So lets see what the Sahabi ( ) and uncle of PROPHET MUHAMMAD (
) HADRAT IBN E ABBAS ( ) has to say about the the verse

They all said:
"What is meant by a Light (Noor) is: Muhammad, Blessings and peace upon him."
PROOF 4
Quran again proves Prophet [salehalawaalihi wasalam] is physical Noor as well
Quran states: God is the Light of the heavens and the earth.
The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed
in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the
east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light
upon Light! God doth guide whom He will to His Light: God doth set forth Parables for men:
and God doth know all things.(24:35)
From Classical tafsirs
Imam Ibn Kathir (rah) says under this ayah
: : : { } :
, Kab al-Ahbar (ra) in explaining {whose oil is well-nigh luminous} said: It is an (example
of) Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam) i.e. He is evident to people as Prophet even if he
had not declared his Nabuwah, just like the olive oil glows even without being lit [Tafsir Ibn
Kathir, Volume No.3, Page No. 490, under 24:35]
*Imam Ibn Jarir at-Tabri (rah) explains Similitude of Allahs Nur as: ***

,
Ibn Abbas (ra) presents the explanation of Kab al-Ahbar (ra) as: {The parable of his light is
as there were a niche} Niche here refers to a lantern, the example of which Allah has given
of Muhammad (salallaho alaihi wasalam)that he is a Lantern which contains light, {And

within it a lamp} meaning his heart{and lamp enclosed in a glass} meaning his chest { the
glass as it were a brilliant star}The chest of Prophet is explained through parable of
glowing star. { whose oil is well-nigh luminous} means that even if Prophet (saw)had not
declared himself a Prophet still his (Nur) would have glowed proving to people that he is a
Nabi
,
[Tafsir al Tabri, under 24:35]
Qadhi Iyad (Rahimuhullah) explains in detail in his maginificent work of Seerah called Ash-
Shifa :

Allah says: Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a
niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly
shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof
almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom
He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all
things.(Surah Nur, 25. Ayah 35)
,
Kab al-Ahbar (ra) and Ibn Jubayr (ra) said: By the second light He means Muhammad
(Peace be upon him). Allah said The Likness of his light this refers to the Nur of
Muhammad (Salallaho alaihi wasalam)
,Sahl bin Abdullah (ra) said that it means that Allah is the guide of creation in heavens and
the earth, he then said: Like the Light of Muhammad (Peace be upon him) when it is lodged
in the loins (of his forefathers) like a niche. By the Lamp he means his heart. The glass is
his breast. It is as if it were a glittering star because of the belief and wisdom it contains,
kindled from a blessed tree, i.e. from the light of Ibrahim (a.s). He makes a comparison
with the blessed tree and He says: ]Its oil would nearly shine i.e. Muhammad (salallaho

alaihi wasalam)s prophecy is evident to the people even before he speaks just like the oil.
A lot more is said about this ayat, and Allah knows the best about it, elsewhere in the Quran
Allah calls his Prophet (salallaho alaihi wasalam) a Light and a LIGHT GIVING LAMP. He
says: A Light and a clear book have come to you from Allah (Quran 5:15), Allah also says:
We sent you as a witness, a barrier or glad tidings and a warner, one who calls to Allah
with his permission and a Light-giving Lamp (Quran 33:46)

It is narrated by Imam Abdur Razaq from Mua'mar, from Ibn al-Manqadr, from Jabir ibn
`Abd Allah who said to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) : "O Messenger of Allah (Peace Be
Upon Him), may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, tell me of the first thing Allah
created before all things." He (Peace Be Upon Him) said: "O Jabir, the first thing Allah
created was the light of your Prophet from His (created) light, and that light remained (lit.
"turned") in the midst of His Power for as long as He wished, and there was not, at that
time, a Tablet or a Pen or a Paradise or a Fire or an angel or a heaven or an earth. And
when Allah wished to create creation, he divided that Light into four parts and from the first
made the Pen, from the second the Tablet, from the third the Throne, [and from the fourth
everything else]....

PROOF 19
Abu Qursafa, as a boy, went to swear allegiance to the Prophet, together with his mother
and her sister. When they returned home they told him, " My son, we have never seen the
like of this man, nor anyone better looking, cleaner dressed, or gentler in his speech; and
we saw as if light came out of his mouth,
TabaraniViews of Companions of Prophet ( )1: The Companion, Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, described how, when the
Prophet, may Allahs blessings and peace be upon him, first entered Madina, everything in
Madina became illuminated, then how, when he died and was buried in Aishas house, the
light disappeared. The phenomenon was so sudden that the Companions were taken aback
and began to doubt whether they had really seen it at all.
(Ahmad and ibn Majah.)
2: Another Companion, Amr al-Aslami, said that once they were with the Messenger of
Allah, may Allahs blessings and peace be upon him, on a very dark night and lost sight of
each other. Suddenly Amrs fingers shone forth with light so that they were able to round
up their mounts and gather again. The light did not subside until they had finished
gathering
Bukhari in Tarikh, Bayhaqiand Tabarani
3: On another occasion, two of the Prophets well known Companions, Usayd ibn Hudayr
and Abbad ibn Bishr, left the Prophets house late on a dark night. The tip of the staff of
one of them lit up like a lamp and they were able to walk. When they came to the place
where they usually separated, the tip of the other staff lit up as well.

Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says in the Holy Qur'aan, in the 48th
Sura, al-Fath, in Verse
28:
It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to proclaim it
over all religion: and enough is Allah for a Witness.
After praising Allah (Hamd) and blessing His beloved Holy Prophet (Salaat). I recited a verse of
the Holy Qur'aan. I present to you this verses literal translation and a little of its commentary. I
request that you patiently sit with tranquil minds and listen to me.
Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says:
It is He Who has sent His Messenger
Sent him with Guidance and the Religion of Truth
That this religion of truth may prevail over all other religions
And enough is Allah for a Witness.
This is the literal translation of the verse. Commenting on this verse the first thing is that Allah
(Almighty and Glorious is He) says that it is He who sent His messenger. The question arises
that whom is this, which He refers to. He did not take His name. Neither has He mentioned the
name of His Essence (zaati)1[1]nor of His Attributes (sifati)2[2]. He did not say, It is Allah,
-

20/41
Who has sent His Messenger nor did he say It is The All-Merciful (ar-Rahmaan),Who has sent
His Messenger. He says, It is He (Huwa) Who has sent His Messenger. I implore the
attention of the learned. The word Huwa is a pronoun (zamir). It is a representative word for an
unseen or named person or thing. It means he. A pronoun (zamir) cannot be known until the
antecedent or original (marja) is not revealed. Al-lazi is a mausuum or naming particle and
the named is not known until the Object (sila) is revealed. In order to elucidate what I am
saying, I present two Urdu sentences. If I say, Zayd came and he recited the Holy Qur'aan. In
this phrase, he is the pronoun (zamir) and the antecedent or original (marja) of this pronoun is
Zayd. Zayd came and he recited, he represents Zayd. If in only say he recited the Holy
Qur'aan then you would not know who recited, since I am only using the he, which is the
pronoun (zamir) and I had not mentioned the the antecedent or original (marja) of this pronoun
(zamir). So this makes clear that a pronoun (zamir) cannot be known until the antecedent or
original (marja) is not revealed. So, Al-laziis a mausuum or naming particle and the named
is not known until the Object (sila) is revealed. To explain this further let me present another
example. If I say to Mr. A.G. Khan, Khan Sahib he, who had sent you a present, sends salaamsto you. From this Khan Sahib will know who the sender of salaam is. For he knows who had sent
him a present. But if I continue saying, Khan Sahib he sends salaams to you then Khan Sahib
would ask, Who has sent salaams to me? So the named is not known until the Object (sila)
is revealed. Huwa is a pronoun (zamir) and Al-lazi is the mausuum or naming particle. Allah
says, Huwal laziIt is He Who has sent and further arsala rasulahuis the the Object (sila).
So the meaning is, It is He who sent His messenger. Allah did not name Himself but he
introduces Himself as The Sender of this messenger. Neither has He mentioned the name of
His Essence (zaati) nor of His Attributes (sifati) but he introduces Himself as The Sender of this
messenger. This means that when one sees this messenger that I sent, then ponder that if this
messenger has such a great status, then how great must the status of the one that sent him be?
Allah introduced Himself to the world, through the means of this matchless messenger of His.
For example, if a great scholar(Aalim) comes to Durban and says, O People, I am the teacher of
so and so. If he introduces himself in this manner then what is the aim for using this method.
The aim is that the audience knows the capability, knowledge and excellence of my student so
when I say, I am his teacher then they would realize on their own that if the student is so
capable, how capable must the teacher be. Allah is saying, O My servants! I am veiled from
your senses. Your eyes cannot see Me. Your ears cannot listen to Me and your senses cannot
perceive Me so I am introducing Myself in this manner that I am He who created a Messenger to
You that if you see his status and greatness then ponder, if the creation is so great then how greatmust the Creator be? The capable teacher is recognized through his capable student and the
expertise of a manufacturer is gauged through the product he manufactures. The greatness
(kamal) of the Creator is known through the Beauty of His Chosen One (jamale Mustafa). You
want to see the greatness of Allah then look at the greatness of the Holy Prophet Muhammad

{Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} and if you want to see
the beauty of the Creator then look at the beauty of the Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and
Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. You want to know the knowledge
of Allah then look at the knowledge of the Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of
Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. You want to know the wisdom of Allah then
look at the wisdom of the Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him
and Upon His Holy Progeny}. You want to see the mercy of Allah then look at the mercy of the
Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny}. Look at the excellence of the Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah
be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} and ponder on the excellence of Allah. Allah is
demonstrating to us that as a pronoun (zamir) cannot be known until the antecedent or original
(marja) is not revealed and a mausuum or naming particle and the named is not known until
the Object (sila) is revealed in the same manner, You cannot know Me until you know My
Beloved.
Establish A Close Connection (Taalluq)3[3]With My Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad(Peace Be Upon Him And His Family:
Allah is saying in effect, If you want to know Me, My Essence (zaat) or My Attributes (sifat),
gain My recognition (marifat) then establish a close connection (taalluq) with My Beloved
Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny}. As long as one does not attach oneself firmly to the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing
of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} then one can never attain the recognition
(marifat) of Allah. The means of recognizing Allah (marifat), with His Essence (zaat) and
Attributes (sifat), is the Personality of the Holy Prophet. Dr Allama Iqbal rendered a beautiful
poem, that I had recited previously and do so once again since it is relevant to the topic.
Mustafa aainae ruwe Khuda
Munafiq darwe hama kuwe Khuda
The Chosen One, Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny} is the mirror that reflects of Allahs Essence and Attributes
The Chosen One, Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny} is the mirror that reflects of Allahs Essence and Attributes so if you
want to see the Splendor (jalwa) Allahs Essence and Attributes then look at the Personality ofthe Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny}. I am not saying this, listen to what Allah says, in a Hadith Qudsi[4]. Imam Mullah Ali
Qari (may Allah be well pleased with him) writes that this saying is Sound (sahih) in its
meaning. Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says,
-

22/41
Kunto kanzan, maghfian, ka ababtoh an urafa fa khalaqtul khalqa o fa khalaqtu Nuram
Muhammadin
Kunto kanzan, maghfian, (I, Allah, was a concealed treasure) and
ka ababtoh (I loved) first of all Allah loves, this whole universe is based on love.
ka ababtoh (I loved or I wanted) What ?
an urafa (that I be known and recognized) Allah says that I loved and wanted to be Known. So
what did I do?
fa khalaqtul khalqa (I created creation) Here creation (khalq) refers to the Light of Muhammad, the first created being or thing. This clarifies that the reason for the creation of Nur or Light of
Muhammad is the Recognition of Allah (marifat). Allah says that I created Nur or Light of
Muhammad so that I may thereby be known or recognized. At this juncture there is a Sufi[5]
point that I wish to state and then continue. Ponder on first part of Allahs statement, I was a
concealed treasure (Kunto kanzan, maghfian). The point in question is, if besides Allah there was
nothing, then from whom or what was He concealed? Have you pondered on this? Concealed
from whom? Allah is Eternal (al-Qadim). He is Eternal without beginning (al-Azal) and Eternal
without end (al-Abad). He always existed and will always exist. As His Essence (zat) is Eternal
without beginning (al-Azal) and Eternal without end (al-Abad), Eternal (al-Qadim). so is His
Attributes (sifat) is Eternal without beginning (al-Azal) and Eternal without end (al-Abad),
Eternal (al-Qadim). So if His Attributes are Eternal was He not the Lord of all Existence (ar-
Rabb) Eternally? Yes he was. Was he not The Provider (ar-Razzaq), The Veiler (as-Sattar), The
Forgiver (alGhaffar)? Yes He exists and existed with all His attributes, but His attributes were
concealed. E.g. ar-Rabb means Sustainer of all Existence, and there was naught to sustain, so He
was the Sustainer of all Existence but this attribute, of ar-Rabb, was concealed. as-Sattar means
The Veiler, and there was no one to sin, so His attribute of The Veiler (as-Sattar), existed but
was concealed. as-Ghaffar means The Forgiver, and there was no one to sin, so His attribute of
The Forgiver (alGhaffar) existed, but was concealed. . as-Razzaq means The Provider, and
there was no one to provide to, so His attribute of The Provider (ar-Razzaq),existed but wasconcealed. Allah says, I was a concealed treasure and I loved to be known, so I created Nure
Muhammadi or the Light of Muhammad. Thus it is known that if The Chosen One (al-Mustafa)
was not brought into existence then the Lord of all Existence (ar-Rabb), The Veiler (as-Sattar)
and all Divine Attributes , would not have been made manifest. Therefore Allah said,
Low laka lama azhartu Rabubiyyah

My Beloved, if You had not been brought into existence, then I would not have manifested My
attribute of the Lord and Sustainer of all Existence (ar-Rabb)
If the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}
had not been created nothing would have come into existence. Allah introduces Himself through
this Messenger of His. Remember this. The means of knowing Allah is the Being of the Holy
Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}.
If one severs a close connection (taalluq) with My Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace
and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} then one can never attain the
Recognition of Allah (marifat).
The Name OfThe Master, Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny}:
The Sufis have asked that we should pay special attention to the name of The Master,
Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. His nameis Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. It is
such a beautiful name that in pronunciation, whether one likes it or not, the lips kiss. Take the
blessed name, Muhammad, and experience it for yourself. Twice the lips come together.
Whether one kisses out of affection or not, Allah has given him such a name:
Zuban se bare Khudaya yeh kis ka naam aaya,
keh mere lutf neh bose meri zuban se liyeh
May we be sacrificed on the name of The Master! Sacrificed on the name! It is mentioned in the
Hadith4[6]:
Allah will spare whosoever has this name on the Day of Judgment.
Whosoever has the name Muhammad, Allah will tell him, you have My Beloveds name, go I
have forgiven you. If his name has such a blessing, how blessed must that personality be? As I
was saying, pay special attention to this name. His name is Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of
Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. There are four letters in this name and also
four letters in the name Allah. There are two laams in the name Allah and there are two
meems in the name Muhammad. In Allahs name the second laam is doubled (mushaddad)
and in the name Muhammad the second meem is doubled(mushaddad). The point is that a
doubled letter (harfe mushaddad) has a connection with the letter before it and the letter
following it. So the second meem of Muhammad is doubled. Before it is heh and after it is
dal. Sufis state that hehsymbolizes Haq (truth) whilst dalsymbolizes dunya (universe). Inbetween is the meem of Muhammad, which symbolizes that He, Muhammad {Peace and
Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} is receiving from The Truth al-
Haqq and distributing to the universe (dunya). Whatever the universe received from Allah it
-
8/7/2019 The Holy Prophet IS NOOR 29-3-2011

received through the means of this meem . If the meem is removed from in between the heh and
dal then they become separated. The connection of the dalto the heh is only through the means
of the meem. Whatever connection we have with the Creator of the Universe it is only through
Muhammad, the Messenger {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny}. The means of the recognition of Allah is the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of
Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}.
The Human Emergence And The Creation Of The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah
be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}
Allah says:
It is He Who has sent His Messenger
Ponder! The Quraan commands us to ponder upon its words. Allah says in the 4th
Sura, an-
Nisaa, Verse 82:
Will they not ponder on the Quraan?
Why do they not study the Quraan with care and consideration? Every word and letter from
Allah possesses wisdom. E.g.
It is He Who has sent His Messenger
Allah says, arsalanot khalaqa. The word arsalais derived from irsaal, which means to
send. That object or being can be sent that exists initially. He did not say khalaqa which
means khalqun or to create. Allah did not say, khalaqa Rasulahu but said, arsala
Rasulahuso that it may be known that the time of the Holy Prophets physical appearance in
this world was not the time of his creation. That was the time of his human emergence and not
his creation for he was created before all creation. Thus the Holy Prophets emergence on this
earth was only his arriving and not his creation for he was created before all creation. Listen to
the narration of his creation. The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny} says:
Awwalu ma khalaqallahu noori
The first thing or being that Allah created first is my light (nur)
Here the word khalaqa is utilized. This Hadith is sound (Sahih).

Do you realize what a great personality he is? We accept him as great but his proximity to Allah
and greatness is accepted by those opposed to our beliefs also. Molvi Ashraf Ali Thanvi5[7] has
written about Shah Abd al-Haq Muhaddith Dehlvi (may Allah be well pleased with him), that
daily he was blessed with the vision of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon
Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} in his dreams. Such Ulama are called Huzuri wale Ulama .Meaning that they present themselves (haazir) daily at the Holy Court of the Holy Prophet
{Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} and thereby receive
solutions to many problems from the audience with the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of
Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}.
This great personality, Shaikh al-Muhaddithin Hazrath Allama Shah Abd al-Haq Muhaddith
Dehlvi (may Allah be well pleased with him), says about this Hadith:
Dar hadithe sahih aam da ast Awwalu ma khalaqallahu noori
It is reported in sound sayings of the Holy Prophet that the Holy Prophet stated, The first thing
or being that Allah created first is my light (nur)
Listen to another Hadith. My respected elders and friends, listen attentively to this next Hadith
that I am about to present to you. Imame Ajal, Imam Abd ar-Razaq (may Allah be well pleased
with him) who is the teacher of a great personality like Hazrath Imam Ahmad Hamnbal (may
Allah be well pleased with him) one of the four Imams of Islamic Law (fiqh). Imam Abd ar-
Razaq, is also the grand teacher of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim6[8]. Hazrath Imam Ahmad
Hamnbal says that I have never seen another Imam to match Imam Abd ar-Razaqs knowledge
of Hadith. This great Imam, Abd ar-Razaq has presented this Hadith with its chain of narration.
This is a high-ranking (marfu) Hadith. In case anyone objects and speak out after I leave
therefore I present to you another reference for this Hadith. Molvi Ashraf Ali Thanvi has written
a book on the life of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon HisHoly Progeny} called Nashrut teeb fi zikre Habeeb. I have this book in my possession at this
very instant. He has a chapter in this book called, Section One: A discourse on the light of
Muhammad (pehli fasl, Nure Muhammadi ke bayaan.). He has quoted this Hadith and given a
commentary. I will relate it to you in the Arabic.
Removal Of Hadith And Statements From Original Books Of Great Scholars: Before I
relate this Hadith I would like to tell you one more thing. Imam Qastalani (may Allah be well
pleased with him) has reproduced this Hadith in the commentary of Sahih Bukhari (Sharahe
Sahih Bukhari) and given the reference of Imam Abd ar-Razaqs (may Allah be well pleased
with him) bookal-Musannaf. Thanvi Sahib has also reproduced this Hadith and given the same
reference. Great imams have quoted this Hadith and have given the reference of Imam Abd ar-

Deoband are reprinting this book al-Musannaf that has been quoted as a reference by great
Imams as well as their D******i Molvi Ashraf Ali Thanvi. These D******is have removed this
Hadith from the reprint of al-Musannaf (translators note: the year 1960 to1970). They have
removed and deliberately omitted this Hadith from the original source. If you dont want to
accept the Hadith then do so but why did you remove and deliberately omit this Hadith from the
original source? So these people are Thieves of Hadith. They steal the Hadith of the Holy
Prophet. Some thieves steal money, rob stores or homes but they steal from the Hadith of the
Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. Is this
not stealing? Rejecting is something else but to remove the Hadith from the source book cannot
be tolerated by any person in the world that loves justice. This is a crime and offense. I
convened a conference in the city of Karachi and named the conference Thieves of the Religion
(Din ke Chor). At this conference I made many references to where these people have removed
texts from original sources7[9]. The Supreme Helper (Ghaus al-Azam), The Beloved of The
Most Powerful (Mahboobe Subhaani), Shaykh Sayyid Abd al-Qaadir, of Gilan (al-Jilaani) (may
Allah be well pleased with him) has written a famous bookFutuuh al-Ghaib (Revelations of theUnseen). The Wahabbis have reprinted this book in Karachi. Ghaws al-Azam says in this book
that an Intimate of Allah (Waliullah) when he reaches the state of being A Spiritual Axis
(Qutbiyat) and being The Mightiest Helper (Ghawsiyat) then he is given the power by Allahs
leave to say, Be (kun)(Wa qab yuraddoh illaihi tatweer). When this Qutb orGhaws says, kun
then whatever he wills to be, becomes. In the Wahabbis reprint of this book they have removed
this statement since it conflicts with their beliefs. Shah Abd al-Aziz Muhaddith Dehlvi (may
Allah be well pleased with him) has written a book against the Shia, called, Towfa Ithna
Ashariaand in this book he has written that the Shia, say the we the Sunnis are the enemies of
the Household of the Prophet (Ahl al-Bayt). In our defense Shah Abd al-Aziz Sahib says that
how can we be the enemies of the Household of the Prophet (Ahl al-Bayt) since we, The
followers of the Holy Prophets Sunnah and the Sunnah of the congregation of his Companions
(ahle Sunnah wa jamaat) accept all the Awliya ofahle Sunnah wa jamaat, accept all the Spiritual
Masters of the four Sufi Orders and we remember Imam Hassan and Hussain (may Allah be well
pleased with them) and feed in their blessed memory (nazro niaz). So if we are enemies of the
Household of the Prophet (Ahl al-Bayt) then why do we remember Imam Hassan and Hussain
(may Allah be well pleased with them) and feed in their blessed memory. The entire ahle Sunnah
wa jamaatand their pious elders remember Imam Hassan and Hussain and feed in their blessed
memory. These Wahabbis and D******is, who really reject the remembrance of Imam Hassan
and Hussain, have reprinted Shah Abd al-Aziz Muhaddith Dehlvis, bookTowfa Ithna Ashariaand have removed this statement from the book since it is in conflict with their beliefs. If you
dont accept nazro niaz then dont accept it but why have you changed the books of great
scholars. Why do you steal from the texts? So tell me what did the Jews do? Did they not conceal

the name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon
His Holy Progeny} from the Torah? These (hypocrites) are concealing the great attributes of the
Holy Prophet Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} from the Quraan and Ahadith. I am not speaking falsely I say it with conviction. Any
thing I state I state with certainty since to accuse anyone falsely is a major sin. Why am I making
such a commotion about this? Tell me, he whose home is being plundered, does he not make a
noise? My house is being plundered, since my simple Sunni brothers, who believe like me, are
becoming victims of their deception and lies. My house is being plundered; those who have my
beliefs (aqida) are changing. Why should I not bark since I am a dog of the Holy Court of the
Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. When a
thief arrives does not a dog bark and make a noise? The dog is a trustworthy servant and he
protects the source of his sustenance. I am a dog of the Holy Court of the Holy Prophet {Peace
and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} and am sustained by the bits
and pieces of this Holy Court. So being his dog I warn you with an outcry, to protect yourselves
from these thieves. Protect yourIman. I swear by Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) that thislife of mine is an offering (waqf) on the name of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah
be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. This life has been put on the line on many
occasions. They have tried on numerous occasions to injure and murder me. Allah has always

possession and my protector is the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny}. My protectors are the Awliya. If this life is sacrificed on their name,
then let a thousand such lives be sacrificed on the soil that touch their blessed feet. I swear by
Allah that I dont have a personal grudge or enmity against anybody. If they return to the fold of
truth, in the servitude of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon
His Holy Progeny}, and praise him, then I am prepared to carry their shoes. I keep on telling
them to abuse me but refrain from abusing and insulting the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing
of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. How can I keep quiet knowing their
transgressions and injustice being perpetrated on the Community of Believers, being an
eyewitness to this sacrilege? What answer will I give the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of
Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} on the Day of Reckoning? The Holy Prophet
{Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} will ask, People used
to kiss your hand, garland you and shower you with presents because you used to take my nameand when my personality was being blasphemed, and my sayings were being removed from
books you kept quiet. Those who swear me, do so! I have no fear, for I will present myself at
the Holy Court of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His

This house has been set on fire by its own lamp
For the sake of Allah, use your intelligence. If this verse connotes what they say it does and we
adopt this belief that the Holy Prophet does know what is his destiny and that of others and then
we have a debate with the Shia sect. In this debate we present the following arguments:The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}
said,
The following eminent personalities, Abu Bakr Siddique, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Talha, Zubair,
Saad, Saeed, Abd ar-Rahman bin Auf, Abu Ubaidah (May Allah be well pleased with them) are
Inmates of Heaven. These ten eminent persons are known as The Ten who received Glad
Tidings (Asharah Mubasharah).
We will say that the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His
Holy Progeny} gave these ten glad tidings of paradise then they will argue that your Molvis have
stated that The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} does not know what is his destiny and that of others, so how can he give these tidings
of paradise? What answer will they give the Shia? Also many Verses of the Holy Qur'aan and

8/7/2019 The Holy Prophet IS NOOR 29-3-2011
30/41
O You who are present at the Battle of Badr, do as you please for Allah has guaranteed your
salvation9[11]
He {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} has also said:
Those who pledged the oath of fealty to me under the tree, have been guaranteed salvation by
Allah10[12]Should I make it brief, He {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} has also said:
Tuba li mar raani
Glad tidings for he who has looked at me (with faith)
And he {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} also said:
Kulla Ummati yadkhulunal jannah
My entire community will attain paradise
A Quraanic Verse Is Being Presented But The Meaning Given Is Wrong:
Yet they say that the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon HisHoly Progeny} does not know his own destiny. And they present the 46th Sura al-Ahqaaf,
Verse 9. Those who dont know the reality, say well if a Quraanic verse is being presented
then we have to believe the Quraan. Let me clarify that the verse is a Quraanic verse but
the meaning given is wrong. In the period of Hazrath Ali, the Rebels (Kharijites11[13]), who
had broken away from Hazrath Ali, used to present a Quraanic Reference, The 12thSura,
Yusuf: Verse 67:
None can command (or judge) except Allah:
On the strength of this verse they refused to accept the command and judgment of Hazrath Ali
(may Allah be well pleased with him).
Hazrath Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) used to say:
Kalimatu haqqin, urida bee ha baatin
The words they quote are truthful, but the derived application is false
Meaning the words of the Quraan is true but the meaning that they give to it is false. In reality
Allah is independently The One Who Commands And Judges Wisely (al-Haakim), but if Allah
-
8/7/2019 The Holy Prophet IS NOOR 29-3-2011
31/41
bestows this ability to someone then he too, dependent upon Allah, is one who Commands And
Judges Wisely (Haakim).
Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says in the Holy Qur'aan in the 4th Sura, an-Nisaa, Verse
58:
And when you judge between human beings (whether Muslims or non-Muslims), then judge
with justice:
In the same manner, they (the Wahabbi / Deoband /Tabligh Jamaat alliance) present Quraanic
verses to substantiate their deviant beliefs, but the meaning given is wrong. Simple-minded
people dont know that they are presenting wrong interpretations of Quraanic verses and are
trapped by them. Let me explain, the 46th
Sura al-Ahqaaf, Verse 9, in which the Holy Prophet
{Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} says, so listen
carefully to the words
Nor do I know (speculate) what will be done with me or with you.
The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}
said ma adrnot ma alamu. There is knowledge(ilm) and speculation(dirayat). Let
me narrate a story to you to explain dirayat:
There was a Hindu King who had a priest (pundit) in his employ. Hindu Kings alwaysemployed priests, magicians, (jadugar) and the like to serve them. The punditalways told
the king some tale to keep the king fascinated and his employment secured. E.g. He would
tell the king that this year would be very prosperous for him: this month is lucky etc. The
kings wife was expecting a child and the king asked the punditif he would have a male or
female child? The punditwas in a fix for if he predicts a male and a female is born he would
be discredited and on the other hand if he predicts a female and a male is born he would be
still discredited. There was also the possibility of the child being lost. So the priest began
speculating, this is what is dirayat. The priest said, O King! I know the result of the birth,
but to disclose my knowledge is against our creed. You are the king, and your enemies hope
that you dont have an heir to continue your lineage. If they get wind of my disclosure to
you they may perform some magic and harm your lineage. Therefore, I will write down the
result of the birth on a piece of paper, and you lock this into a safe. After the birth you open
the paper and see the result would be exactly as I have written. The king agreed and the
priest wrote on the piece of paper, larka na larki (boy not girl). This is what is called
speculation or dirayat. If a boy would be born, he would say, I had written larka, na larki
(boy, not girl). Here he paused after boy and joined the not with girl. If a girl would be
-

32/41
born, he would say, I had written larka na, larki (boy not, girl). In the case of the child not
surviving he would say I had written, larka na larki (boy not girl). This is what is called
speculation or dirayat. A speculation could go wrong for with the power of Allah, twins, a
boy and girl could have been born.
In the time of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} physical era on this earth the soothsayers etc. speculated in this way. So the Holy
Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} is in actual
fact saying, that information that I give you, events of the past and that which would unfold in
the future, and the events of the reckoning and that I would knock on the door of paradise first
etc.
I am not speculating but say as Allah has me say in the continuation of the Holy Qur'aan, the 46th
Sura al-Ahqaaf, Verse 9: 12[14]
I but follow what is revealed to me
I inform on the basis of revelation to me from Allah. They read part of the verse and leave the
rest of the verse under discussion, of the Holy Qur'aan, the 46th Sura al-Ahqaaf, Verse 9:
The correct translation is:
I dont speculate as to what will befall you or me tomorrow. I inform (with certainty) following
that which is revealed to me
Dont think my knowledge is speculative like fortune-tellers and soothsayers; it is not devilish
or speculative it is certainty for it is revelation from Allah. So this is the meaning and they
have translated falsely. They have corrupted the commentary and thereby corrupted the belief
(Aqaaid) of the people i.e. that the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny} does not know his own destiny or that of others.
Allah says in the Holy Qur'aan, the `17Th
Sura al-Israa, Verse79:
Soon will thy Lord raise thee to a Station of Praise and Glory!13[15]
-
8/7/2019 The Holy Prophet IS NOOR 29-3-2011
33/41
When the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} was asked as to what is The Praiseworthy Station (al-Maqam al-Mahmud)? He replied,
The Praiseworthy Station (al-Maqam al-Mahmud) is the Station of Intercession (al-Maqam
ash- Shafaat). At this state I will sit and intercede for the people and through my intercession
people will attain salvation.Let us also analyze this from the point on intellect. We say to idol-worshippers and disbelievers
to embrace Islam to attain salvation and save themselves from the punishment in the after-life.
They will tell us that, That Prophet upon whom you ask us to testify faith does not know his
own condition in the afterlife so how do you guarantee salvation, what benefit is there in this?
Tell me honestly, will any disbeliever, become Muslim holding this false belief? You, holders of
wrong belief (Aqaaid) say the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny} does not know his own condition in the hereafter, yet, the Holy
Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} has stated
that:
He who is named after me will attain salvation
What a unique, Messenger of Allah, that if we keep his name we are saved.
As I was saying Hazrath Jabir (may Allah be well pleased with him) asked the Holy Prophet
{Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}, Inform me as to what
was the first thing or being that Allah created before all creation? This informs us it was the
belief and faith of the Companion that the Holy Prophet has knowledge as to the first thing or
being that Allah created. Fro here we had branched out since these holders of wrong belief
(Aqaaid) say the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} has no knowledge of his destiny, the destiny of others or what is behind a wall. So, the
companion asked the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon HisHoly Progeny}, Inform me as to what was the first thing or being that Allah created before all
creation? Here the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His
Holy Progeny} did not say, I dont know, Allah knows. On the contrary, he answered:
Ya Jabiru! Innalha ta aala khalaqa, kablal ashyaa in Nura Nabiyuka min14[16] Nurihi
O Jaabir! Allah willed the creation, before anything or being the Light of your Prophet, as a
result of His Light
What does it min Nurihi mean? Allah Created The Light of Muhammad as an, emanation (fayz)
of His light (translators note: Allah is Nurso his Will (Kun) is Nur.) Allahs Light is Uncreated, whilst
the Holy Prophets Light is created by Allah and The Uncreated and Created cannot be equal:
If there is no equality, so no polytheism (shirk) has occurred. So the Holy Prophet said:
Allah created the Light of thy Prophet, O Jaabir! Before anything or being.

34/41
Jaabir asked, O Messenger of Allah! Did nothing at all exist at this stage? The Holy Prophet
{Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} answered in a very
long tradition (Hadith):
At that stage there was no Preservation Tablet of the Destiny (lauw e mahfuz) Pen that
records Destiny (qalam), Throne of God (Arsh), no skies, nor grounds, nor sun, nor moon, nor human, nor jinn, nor tree, nor branch. Only Allah existed and he willed the creation of
my Light
Allah created the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His
Holy Progeny} before every creation and prophet and sent him on this earthly plane after all
Prophets. I dont say this on my own accord but the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of
Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} has stated:
Anna awwalin Nabiyina fil khalqe, wa akhirahu fi base
I precede all prophets in creation and follow all in arrival
Dr. Allama Iqbal has composed a beautiful poem:
Nigaheh ishqoh masti meh, wohi awwal, wohi akhir ,
wohi Qur'aan , wohi Fur'qaan , wohi Ya-sin , wohi Ta-ha . "
The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) from the point of view of love is the first and it is he
who is the last. And it is he who is the Qur'aan and it is he who is the standard of right and wrong
in this entire universe. And he is Ya>-si>n and T{a>-ha>
The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} is
before (awal) all the prophets (in creation) and is last (akhir) in arrival. All the Prophets, in
between, are in his embrace for he is in the beginning and the end. All the perfection and
excellence (kamaliat) of the Prophets are centered in his essence.
Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says, in the verse being discussed, in the Holy Qur'aan, inthe 48
thSura, al-Fath, in Verse 28:
It is He Who has sent His Messenger
The word is sent. What did Allah send him with?
Sent him with Guidance and the Religion of Truth
Allah sent him with guidance (hidaayat) and the way of life of truth. He brought guidance
(hidaayat) and came as the embodiment of guidance (haadi).
Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says in the Holy Qur'aan, in the 13th Sura, ar-Ra d, in
Verse 7:
-
8/7/2019 The Holy Prophet IS NOOR 29-3-2011
35/41
But thou art truly a Warner, and to every people a Guide.
Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says in the Holy Qur'aan, in the 42nd Sura, ash-Shura, in
Verse 52:
And verily you guide (men) to the Straight Way
He brought guidance (hidaayat) and came as the embodiment of guidance (haadi). What do
these misguided guides of the 14th Hijra Century say? They say that if the Holy Prophet {Peace
and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} could give guidance(hidaayat) then why did he not guide Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab? Why did he not guide his uncle
Abu Taalib? If the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} could give guidance (hidaayat) then he would have guided these unbelievers to
Islam. I have presented to you their objections and faultfinding. Regarding this Ala Hazrath,
Imame Ahle Sunnat has stated:
Zikre rohke, Fazl kaate, Naqs ka johya rahe
Pir kahe mar tak ke hu, Ummat Rasulullah ki
They restrict the remembrance of the Holy Prophet, severe his excellence, and look for fault
And yet they proclaim that they belong to the Community of the Messenger of Allah
Allama Iqbal
Can there be such a Community (Ummat), which looks for fault in their Master? Loyal
Community members (Ummat), praise their Master. They look for fault. They even read the
Holy Qur'aan and look for such verse that say the Holy Prophet did not have knowledge; is
human like us; made a mistake etc. They look for fault. Khan Sahib has told me that here (in
South Africa) somebody has stated that Allama Iqbal is in hell. Some Colonel Sahib who came
from abroad. I said Khan Sahib he spoke the truth because he (Colonel Sahib) must have gone to
hell and seen. Only he who has been there can inform of hell. They cannot know of heaven, for
they have not been or are going to go there. Seek refuge and forgiveness in Allah! Who is going
to heaven and who to hell is dependant on Allah. Allama Iqbal was an, intense lover (aashiq)of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}.
There is no doubt in this that previously Allama Iqbal had some faults, but he loved the Holy
Prophet intensely. Intense love (ishq) eventually bears fruit (rang laata heh). Thus in his last
days he repented for his sinful ways, grew a beard and sincerely cried in repentance. The Holy
Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} said:
He who sincerely repents is cleansed as if he never sinned
-

36/41
His love was reflected in his poetry. Let me recite some for you so that you will come to know.
He supplicates in this poem to Allah. I cannot read these poetic lines. What does he say? He
says:
Tu Gani, az har do aalam, man faqir
Aur roze mashar uzre haaye man pahzeerO Allah! You are without care in both worlds, Self Sufficing; I am Your beggar, dependant on
You
Accept my plea, accept my repentance and on the Day of Reckoning dont expose my sins and
make me ashamed in front of people
O Allah! You are without care in both worlds, Self Sufficing (Tu Gani, az har do aalam) has
great significance in Iqbals plea. He saying to Allah if You engulf me in punishment, and shame
me in front of people, how will it benefit You. If You grant me salvation and accept my
repentance, then it can harm You in no way. You are free of benefit or harm, so O Enriched, Self
Sufficing, Allah! forgive me. Iqbal then continues his plea.
Mar hisaabam raah tu pini na guzi
Az nigaaye Mustafa pinha bagir
O Allah! If you open my book of deeds
Dont open it in front of the Chosen One, Muhammad {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon
Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}.
He is saying O Allah! Dont make me ashamed in front of my Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam). In solitude do what You would with me. It means that if You, O Allah! Open my
book of deeds in the presence of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him
and Upon His Holy Progeny} then my Holy Prophet will be hurt. Dont let him be in discomfort,
keep me in solitude do what You would with me.Such word are spoken through the generosity (karam) of the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing
of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. I will relate a story to you about a Haji
that visited Dr. Iqbal.
A Haji That Visited Dr. Iqbal
This story is from before the partition of the Indo-Pak Subcontinent. A Haji returned from
pilgrimage, and he had bought a pair of sandals from Madinah, the Illuminated. Such sandals
were not available in Hindustan. When the Haji, arrived to visit Allama Iqbal, he sat down and
he removed his sandals. Allama Iqbal commented on the beauty of the pair of sandals his guest
had worn and enquired as to where he had bought it. The Haji replied that it was purchased in
Madinah, the Illuminated. When Allama Iqbal heard this, he took the sandals and placed it on his
head, exclaiming, O Haji! You have put the sandals of Madinah on your feet. These are worthy
of reverece and to be placed on ones head. This is the intense love (ishq) that Allama Iqbal had
for the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}.
Read the poetry of Allama Iqbal (may Allah be well pleased with him). Such poetry, that it
infused a life and soul into the Muslims. That is why he has been granted the titles of Poet of

the East (Shair- e-Mashrik) and The Pride of Islam (mufakkir-e-Islam). Such people are
lovers. Intense love (ishq) eventually bears fruit (rang laata heh).
He loved the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny}. He says:
Tu farmudi rahe batha baristen
Ba warna manzile mara toh tujhwen
O Messenger of Allah! You have commanded us to go to the Kaaba, therefore we do
Or else our Kaaba, and everything is you.
So I branched out from my main topic when I quoted Allama Iqbal saying:
Nigaheh ishqoh masti meh, wohi awwal, wohi akhir,
wohi Qur'aan , wohi Fur'qaan , wohi Ya-sin , wohi Ta-ha
The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) from the point of view of love is the first and it is he
who is the last. And it is he who is the Qur'aan and it is he who is the standard of right and wrong
in this entire universe. And he is Ya>-si>n and T{a>-ha>
He is the first and the last. He brought guidance (hidaayat) and came as the embodiment of
guidance (haadi). They (D******is / Tablighis /Wahabbis) ask that if he could give guidance
(hidaayat) then why did he not give it to certain individuals. I am giving you a pointer: today I
am delivering a strange discourse for as I stated earlier I am in a different state of mind today. I
am also physically exhausted. So today you will listen to a strange discourse on a different state
of consciousness. Listen attentively! They say that that if the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him
and hisfamily) could give guidance (hidaayat) then why did he not guide Abu Jahl to Islam?
Accusatory Answer (Ilzami Jawaab):
Initially, apparently, I answered this question but now I present an analytical answer(isharatan).
Remember the accusatory answer (ilzami jawaab). Answer it shortly and precisely. ? They say
that if the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} could give guidance (hidaayat) then why did he not guide Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab?
Tell them this much; whether the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and
Upon His Holy Progeny} could give guidance (hidaayat) or not, lets leave this issue for a
while. Tell us could Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) have given guidance (hidaayat)?
Certainly they would answer, that Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) could certainly have
given guidance (hidaayat). Then you ask them why Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) did
not give guidance (hidaayat) to Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab? Allah you could certainly have given
guidance (hidaayat) to Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab then why did you not. If the questioners are
willing to listen, then give them this answer. Allah did not guide them because He did not will it.
Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says in the Holy Qur'aan, in the 2 nd Sura, AL-Baqarah, in
Verse 213:
-
8/7/2019 The Holy Prophet IS NOOR 29-3-2011
38/41
Allah guides whom He will to a path that is straight
They will answer that Allah did not like Abu Jahl, so He did not guide him. This is exactly ouranswer. He whom Allah does not want, The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon
Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} does not want also. The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing
of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} certainly gives guidance (hidaayat) but he
gives to whom Allah wills. The Holy Prophet is subject to Allah and is not dominant over Him.
If Allah wills not to give guidance (hidaayat) to Abu Jahl, then the Holy Prophet {Peace and
Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} would never go against the will of
Allah. Allah says, O Beloved! Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab are not to be guided. The Holy Prophet
replies, As You will O Allah! The Creator of Guidance (Khaliqe hidaayat) is Allah whilst the
distributor of guidance (motie hidaayat) the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be
Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny}. Only he gets guidance from the Holy Court of the
Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} for
whom Allah has created it. If Allah did not create it the Holy Prophet did not bestow it. It is
amusing that they say the Holy Prophet cannot guide. Ask them for what reason do they (the
Tablighi Jamaat) travel thousands of miles? They travel from Pakistan to South Africa and vice
South Africa to Pakistan saying they are out to give people guidance (hidaayat). They consider
themselves guides (haadi) and say they travel out to give people guidance (hidaayat). They
can give guidance (hidaayat) but the Holy Prophet cannot guide? Think clearly for the sake of
Allah. The Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy
Progeny} brought guidance (hidaayat
Sent him with Guidance and the Religion of Truth
He brought guidance (hidaayat) and came as the embodiment of guidance (haadi). He
brought the religion of truth. Whatever the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon
Him and Upon His Holy Progeny} taught is guidance (hidaayat) and the religion or way of
life he instituted is the religion or way of life of truth. At this juncture I wish to make a point.
Let the intellectuals take note. The word deen has many applications. Let me present anapplication from the Holy Qur'aan. The Quraan also translates and comments itself on certain
narration (tafsir). That is the most excellent commentary and explanation (tafsir) that comes
from the Holy Qur'aan. In the Quraan Allah has stated the meaning of deenas: translators

the interim of the tape being changed.15[17] I herby, expound the word deen as done by
Shaykh Abd al-Qaadir Jilani (may Allah be well pleased with him) The word deen
although usually translated by the English word religion has several applications that Allah has
enumerated in the Holy Qur'aan.
1. In 12th
Sura, Yusuf: Verse 76 the expression is used:
in the worldly domain (deen) of the king
2. In the 9thSura, at-Tauba: Verse 36 it is used as Reckoning or calling to
account: (hisaab)
That is the right deen
Which means [That is] the correct, honorable and straight forward reckoning (al
hisaab al mustaqeem) In the 24thSura, an-Nur: Verse 25 it is used as Reward (jazaa)
On that Day Allah will pay them their(deen)in full,
- Here the true deen means the Reward that is most just (al-jazaa al-a dal)
4. In the 24thSura, an-Nur: Verse 2 it is used as Legally binding judgment
(hukm):
The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication flog each of them with a hundred
stripes: let not compassion move you in their case, when it is a matter of Allahsdeen, if ye

believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their
punishment.
5. In the 6thSura, al-Anaam: Verse 70 it is used as The Festival (id)
Leave alone those who take theirdeen to be mere play and amusement
6. In the 98thSura, al-Baiyina: Verse 5 it is used for performance of the ritual
prayer (salaat) and payment of the alms due (zakaa):t
And they have been commanded no more than this: to worship Allah, offering Him sincere
devotion, being True (in faith); to establish regular Prayer; and to practice regular Charity;
and that is the deenright and Straight.
7. In the 1st Sura, al-Fatiha: Verse 3 it is used for the Resurrection (qiyaama):
Master of the Day ofdeen
8. In the 5thSura, al-Maaida: Verse 3 it is used for the Sacred Law [Shariah]
Today I have perfected yourdeen for you
Meaning the legal prescription of your religion (sharaa I dini-kum)
I, the insignificant translator, Irshad Soofi in my limited capacity, think that this great Lover ofthe Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His Holy Progeny},
Hazrath Maulana Muhammad Shafi Okarvi (may Allah be well pleased with him) was
expounding that:
-
8/7/2019 The Holy Prophet IS NOOR 29-3-2011
41/41
Sent him with Guidance and the deen
Means that the Holy Prophet {Peace and Blessing of Allah be Upon Him and Upon His HolyProgeny} gave us the concept of:
Accountability to Allah
Being rewarded for righteousness
Following the Law (hukm) of Allah
Rejoicing in Allahs Blessing and serious in application
Service to God and Man in Performance of the ritual prayer (salaat) and payment of
the alms due (zakaat)
All in all, everything we have is a gift from him.
As to the thief, male or female, cut off his or her hands
That this religion of truth may prevail over all other religions
