HKRA encourages members to actively participate

in research and improvement projects of their work.

However, presenting their projects or research pa-

pers in overseas conferences would require costly

traveling expenses. The conference sponsorship

scheme has recently been reviewed to allocate

more funding for our members in such activities.

Members are welcome to apply for the sponsorship

from the Association by submitting the application

form, which can be downloaded from our website.

21st Nationwide Scientific Congress of Chinese Society of Medical Imaging Technology

Mr. Edward Wong, Mr. Derek Kwan and Mr. Anthony Chan participated in the Congress held in Beijing on 15-18 August 2013, under the sponsorship of Carestream Health. Mr. Edward Wong also delivered a talk there. As the Vice-President of International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technolo-gists, Dr. Maria LAW joined the Congress. Mr. NGAN Tsz Lung was presented with the Outstanding

Award for his oral presentation at the English Session.

September Conference on Macau Radiology 2013

The Conference, jointly hosted by Macao Radiology Association and Macao Radiological Technologists’ Association, took place on 28-29 September at Macao Science Center, on the theme "Academic Forum of Asian Radiological Technologists & Genitourinary Radiology". Mr. Edward WONG, Mr. Cheng WK, Ms. Ada Mok, Mr. Derek Kwan, Mr. Nelson Wan, Mr. Chris Lai and Mr. Joseph Lee attended the Confer-ence. Mr. Chris Lai, Mr. Edward Chan and Mr. Cheng WK delivered oral presentations in the Interna-tional Free Paper Session. Meanwhile, as a guest speaker, Mr. Edward Wong held a lecture on the topic

"CT Radiation Dose Monitoring in Radiology".

November Hong Kong – Shanghai Radiographic Technology Exchange

The Hong Kong College of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists organized a delegation for sharing the

experience in imaging technology and radiographic practice between Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Mr. Edward Wong, Mr. Joseph LEE, Mr. Dave Poh and Mr. Cheng WK joined the Exchange dated 7-10 November 2013. We visited Yanji Hospital, Huadong Hospital, Carestream Health and Siemens Shanghai Medical Equipment there. Dr. Maria Law, Mr. Paul Chan and Mr. Edward Wong conducted talks on the following topics in Mandarin for the seminar co-organized by the College and Shanghai branch, Society of

Chinese Medical Imaging Technology, Chinese Medical Association. (i) Dr. Maria Law - "Radiographers and Radiation Therapists of Hong Kong - Status and Professional

Education"; (ii) Mr. Paul Chan - "The 2013 Summit Forum on Imaging Technology in Hong Kong and Shanghai"; (iii) Mr. Edward Wong - "PACS Development in Hong Kong".
