Introduction

Khutbat al Haajah (first part) Innal hamdulillahi nahmaduhu wa nasta’eenu wa nastughfiruhu, wa na’uudhu billaahi min shuruuri anfusinaa wa sayi’aati a’maalinaa. Man yahdihil-laahu falaa muDilla lahu wa man yuDlil falaa haadiya lahu. Wa laa ilaha illa Allaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rusuluhu (Salla allahu alaihi wa ala aalihi wa sahbihi was sa-laam). English Meaning: All praise is due to Allah, we praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah the Most High from the evils of our own selves and from our wicked deeds. Whomever Allah guides cannot be misguided, and whomever Allah He leaves astray, cannot be guided. I testify that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah alone with-out any partner or associate, I further testify that Muhammad (salla allahu alaihi wa salaam) is His true slave and Messenger. May Allah salah and Sa-laam be also granted to the prophet's pure family and to all of his noble companions. Amma Ba'd: (To Proceed)

The Etiquette of Lending Books

Shaykh Saalih bin Abdil-Azeez Aali Shaykh

From the etiquettes related to books, also, is: The manners of lending out books. Giving out books for people to borrow is not allowed unless you are giving them to someone that you trust will care for the books. The reason for this is because you have the most right to your book, unless you find someone else that is in need of the book and who, when he finishes using it, will return it back to you. It is mentioned in the biography of Al-Khateeb Al-Baghdaadee that a man once asked him if he could borrow one of his books, so he replied saying: “You have three days to use it.” The man said: “That is not enough time.” So Al-Khateeb said: “I have counted its pages, so if you want to make a copy of it, then three days is suffi-cient for you. And if you want to read it, then three days is sufficient for you. And if you want to do more than that with it, then I have the most right to my book.” This is correct, since in the past I had lent the first volume of a large book consisting of eight volumes to a brother - I don’t want to mention the title of the book, since perhaps he may hear this and think I’m insinuating him - and now nearly twelve years have passed on, and he still has not returned it to me,. And he tells me he doesn’t know where he put it. Simi-larly, the eighth volume of another set – even though I’m not worried so much over it – however, more than twenty years have passed and until now, he has not given it back. This is why a poet once said: “Do not lend your books And make your answer some excuse Whoever does in fact lend a book, I swear, he has not done something good.” Another person said: “The perdition of books is in lending them.” Please continue reading the article it is very beneficial alhamdulillah at www.al-ibaanah.com

“Verily Allah is my Lord and the Lord of you all, so worship Him (alone), this is the straight path. 3:51

1. Allah has given us signs in his creation as proof that he is our Lord. Some of the signs are the night, the day, the stars, the moon, the sun, the heavens and the earth. We can not worship those things that Allah created because they will not help us. We must worship the One who created them. Remember, Allah created us to worship Him (alone) and to obey Him, to follow his orders and to stay away from what he prohibited.

“And among His signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate your-selves neither to the sun nor to the moon, rather prostrate yourselves to Allah who created

them, if you really worship Him. 41:37

Do you know why Allah created you? Allah says: “And I (Allah) did not create the jinn and man-kind except that they should worship Me (alone). 51:56

The first principle:

It is obligatory for every Muslim boy or girl to have knowledge of his lord.

So, when asked... who is your Lord?

Say, my Lord is (He) Allah, who reared me by his bounty, created me from nothing

and brought me into existence.

Lesson 5: Who is your Lord?

“Thus did we show Ibrahim the Kingdom of the heav-ens and the earth that he be one of those who have Faith with certainty.” 6: 75

Review. Allah has given us signs in his creation as proof that he is our Lord. Some of the signs are the night, the day, the stars, the moon, the sun, the heavens and the earth. We can not worship those things that Allah created because they will not help us. We must worship the One who created them. Remember, Allah created us to wor-ship Him (alone). See the example of Prophet Ibrahim (alaihi salaam) below. Notice how he saw the truth by Allah’s will. May Allah make us like Ibrahim the friend of Al-lah, and may he keep our feet firm upon the truth AMEEN Read Below↓

“When the night covered him over with darkness he saw a star. He said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "I like not those that set." (Al-An'am 6:76)

Lesson 5a: Ibrahim is shown the Kingdom

Read the previous lesson again. Read the new ayaat. Review for understanding. Ask “who do we worship?” at the end for clarity.

“Verily, I have turned my face towards Him Who has created the heavens and the earth Hanifa (Islâmic Monotheism, i.e. worshipping none but Allah Alone) and I am not of Al-Mushrikûn (see V.2:105)". (Al-An'am 6:79)

When he saw the sun rising up, he said: "This is my lord. This is greater." But when it set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from all that you join as partners in wor-ship with Allah. (Al-An'am 6:78)

“When he saw the moon rising up, he said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "Unless my Lord guides me, I shall surely be among the erring people." (Al-An'am 6:77)

Can I worship the stars? NO

Can I worship the moon? NO

Can I worship the sun? NO

Who should we worship?

“Indeed, the religion with Allah is al-Islam.” 3:19

The religion of Islam is built upon five pillars. The first of which is the testimony of faith or the Sha-hadah. What is the Shahadah? The Shahadah is for someone who believes in their heart and to say with the tongue (speech) La ilaha illa Allah wa Anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasulullah. This means that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah alone and that Muham-mad is his slave and messenger. They must also give up all forms of false worship (shirk).

Have you said the Shahadah before? Remember, you must believe it when saying it inshaAllah.

5 Pillars: 1. Testimony of Faith 2. Salaat 3. Zakaat 4. Fasting in the Month of Ramadan 5. Hajj

“Allah testifies that there is none worthy of worship besides Him, and so do the angels and the people of knowledge– maintaining His creation in Justice. There is none worthy of wor-

ship besides Him, He is the all-Mighty, the all-Wise.” 3:18

“And whosoever seeks other than Islam as a religion, then it will never be accepted from him. And in the hereafter, he will be from amongst the losers. 3:85

The second principle:

It is obligatory for every Muslim boy or girl that they have knowledge of his religion

So, when asked... What is your religion?

Say, my religion is Islam. And it is submis-sion, obedience, and compliance to Allah

Lesson 6: What is your religion?

“Indeed, the prayer has been written

upon the believers at specified times.” 4:103

The religion of Islam is built upon five pillars. The second pillar is the performance of prayer or as-Salaat. What is con-sidered to be prayer? The salaat is an act of worship done solely for the pleasure of Allah alone. It must be performed in the manner in which it was revealed to our Messenger Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and at the time for which it is due. Only then can it be accepted by the will of Allah.

Do you know how to pray yet? Go here for step for step help. http://www.understand-islam.net/salat/04.html

It is important for you to try to learn, for soon you will be at the age where you must pray too! A Muslim who prays per-fectly is loved by Allah and his sins are forgiven. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Tell me if a stream flows at the door of anyone of you and you bathe in it five times a day, will any dirt be left on the body?” The companions said: “No dirt will be left.” The Prophet said: “So is the case with Salaat—five prayers. Allah removes and washes away the sins on their account.” Bukhari & Muslim

There is no place in Islam for the one who abandons salaat.

“So pray to your sustainer and sacrifice.” Al-Kauthar: 2

Muslims pray 5 obligatory salaat everyday.

However, you can pray more than this also, these types are called Sunnah or Nawafil Salaat.

5 Prayers: 1. Fajr 2. Dhuhr 3. Asr 4. Maghrib 5. Ishaa

Lesson 7: Salaat

What pillar of Islam is Salaat? ___________

How can you draw nearer to Allah?

“My servant continues to draw near Me by Nawafil, until I love him, and when I love him. I am the hearing with which he hears and the sight with which he sees and the hand with which he grasps and the foot on which he

walks.”

Page 17: The House of Mecca Sadaqa Group, Inc © 2004-2007. All ...webzoom.freewebs.com/thmsadaqagroup/sscg workbook.pdf · The House of Mecca Sadaqa Group, Inc © 2004-2007. ... Inc © 2004-2007

“Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it, and Invoke Allah for

them. Verily, your supplications are a source of security for them and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.” 9:103

The religion of Islam is built upon five pillars. The third of which is the payment of Zakat or obliga-tory charity due on wealth, with conditions. Zakat is given to the Masjid or directly to the family so that it can help those families that are in need. When you fulfill the obligation of Zakat you preserve the honour of the poor Muslim from the humiliation of asking from other than Allah.

After Ramadan there is a celebration called Eid ul Fitr. Muslims pay Zakat before this time in the form of food stuff such as rice, grain, barley or other than these. This food is distributed to those families who are in need of it. May Allah make things easier for them and accept our good deeds ameen.

Zakat can be given to the one who is destitute, poor Muslims, a Muslim who is in debt, the ones who collect the Zakat, the weak in faith, those who are fighting in Jihad, and the stranded Muslim traveler who needs to get home.

Paying Zakat is a proof for one’s belief. It is a purification from sins. And Allah multiplies the re-wards of good deeds. Read 2:261

“And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him alone, and offer prayers perfectly (Iqamat as-Salaat) and

give Zakat and that is the right religion.” 98:5

“Charity is a Proof.” Sahih Muslim

“O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it

was prescribed for those before you that you may achieve taqwaa.” 2:183

The religion of Islam is built upon five pillars. The fourth of which is the Fasting in the Month of Ramadan. Fasting is an act of worship done solely for the pleasure of Allah. There are many bene-fits from fasting. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Saum (fasting) is a shield from the Hell-Fire.” He (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) also said: “Whoever observed fasting in Ramadan with perfect faith and seeking reward, he will have his previous sins forgiven.” Both hadith Agreed Upon.

Some other benefits from fasting include giving your digestive organs a rest. This allows your body to rid itself of the accumulated waste that can cause bad health. Fasting allows the person to train themselves for doing good deeds, and by acting upon obedience to Allah, having some discipline in his actions and speech, having sabr (patience) and increasing in his sincerity. Fasting brings the community of Muslims together, breaking fast with them, praying with them and more.

All Muslims male or female are required to fast except for those who have been excused based upon Qur’an wa Sunnah and the laws of Shari’a.

The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “When Ramadan starts, the doors of heaven are opened, and the doors of Hell are closed and the devils are chained up.” Agreed Upon

Helpful tips for Fasting:

1. Eat Sahur (Pre-dawn meal)

2. Abstain from food, drink, and marital relations during the time of fast. (may need explanation)

3. Increase in acts of worship and good deeds, spending in charity.

4. Reading of Qur’aan daily (a juz) , dhikr, Guard-ing the salaat, being well mannered, and giving up bad habits.

...and Hajj to the House is a duty that mankind owes to Allah… 3:97

The religion of Islam is built upon five pillars. The fifth of which is the performance of Hajj. Many Muslims make the trip to Makkah, Saudi Arabia every year so that they can visit the first house of worship built by Ibraheem and Ishma’eel for Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), the Kabah. Visiting the Kabah, is the right of Allah and it must be fulfilled at least once in your lifetime if you are able. May Allah make you and your family successful in fulfilling his obligations ameen.

Hajj is not an obligation for children. Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (salla allahu alaihi wasallam) said, "If a boy performs Hajj and then attains puberty, he should perform Hajj again...”

Visiting The Prophet’s Mosque

A pilgrim goes to Madina before or after Hajj with the in-tention of visiting the Prophet's mosque and praying in it. Prayer there is better than a thousand prayers elsewhere except in the Holy Mosque in Makkah.

UMMI, WHO IS

Muhammad?

Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn ‘Abdul-Muttalib ibn Haashim is the messenger and prophet of Islam. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him. He was a slave of Al-lah. He was a human being. We do not worship him or any other prophets or messen-gers. There were messengers sent before him, like Prophet Nuh, Ibraheem, Ishma’eel and Eesaa, but the people denied them. He was the last Messenger sent to mankind and there will be no other messengers sent after him.

The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) died when he was 63 years old. He became a Prophet when he was 40 years old. He preached and spread the Mes-sage of Islam for 23 years. The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was the best example for all of mankind. May the salaat and salaams be sent upon him, ameen.

“O mankind, verily I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allah.”

Abdul-Muttalib was the prophet Muham-mad’s grandfather. His grandfather had ten sons, one of them was Abdullah the prophet’s father. Muhammad was born after the death of his father Abdullah. Abu Talib the uncle of the prophet took charge of his nephew and raised him in the very best way.
