“Film Fest ‘11” is an online film festival / contest organised by The Human Fundamentals NGO. The film fest is targeted on short films / documentaries / docu-dramas / ads / teasers / mime that relates to social awareness / issues or such.

What are we looking?

We   are   looking   for   short   films   /  Documentaries  /  docu-­‐dramas  /  ads  /  teasers  /  mime  /   etc.   of   any   duration   which   are   either   produced   in  India  or  have  a  reference  to  India  that  relates  anyhow  to  the  social  awareness.  

The   film   subject   should   be   chosen   as   such  that   should   invoke   the   social   values   /   social  awareness.  For  example,  a  documentary  stating  how  a  child  labour  was  made  to  escape  from  his  work  and  made   his   way   to   the   schools,   a   docudrama  implementing  social  values  in  mass  through  a  story  of  an   orphan   adopted   by   some   youngsters,   short   films  on  serious  social  awareness   like   farmers  suicides,  Ad  films   for   non-­‐governmental   organizations   or  campaigns  like  Sarva  Shiksha  Abhiyan  or  so,  statistical  documentaries   about   gender   discrimination.   More  vivid   subjects   should   be   shot   that   can   aware   the  peoples  about  the  current  social   life  around  you  and  the   things   you   want   to   change.   Like   malnutrition,  improper  medical  care  system.    Anything  that  can  be  related  to  social  awareness  or  revolution  are  heartily  welcomed  to  the  Film  Fest’11.

This is an online Film Fest and will be screened online on filmfest.thehumanfundamentals.org.in Contest winner will win Rs.50,000 in cash and a chance to shoot a 30 min documentary for THF.

This is a new dimension to the film festival. We are screening your every entry online so making it viewable worldwide. The link to your video can be shared anywhere on the web so as to grab some viewers for your videos who can rate your videos. Yes! The public rating counts a big share in deciding the final winner of the contest. Though a major part in the decision is of the jury that we setting up to do the evaluation of your film. Every aspect of the film has to be evaluated by the expert jury. Jury will be announced online after the publics voting are closed. The contest winner will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs.50,000 and the team will stand a chance to shoot a documentary for ‘The Human Fundamentals’.

So as public voting stands a share in the result, quicker you submit the movie, more votes you can collect, more votes you collect more are the chances you getting noticed. So make sure that you register and send your CD/DVD sooner. And invite your friends to watch and rate your video, the more crowd you pull, more are the chances of winning the film fest’11.

Guidelines for Contest

ü In making your Film, you must have (1) obtained appropriate releases for every person who appears recognizably in your Film; (2) obtain appropriate releases for those locations that appear recognizably in your film and require releases. You will retain any such releases and provide them to the organizers upon request.

ü The Film must not contain any copyrighted works belonging to third parties unless (1) you have a license to use such works in the Film; or (2) the use your Film makes of such works is a fair one under the copyright laws. You will retain any licenses and provide them to organizers upon request.

ü The DVD along with the Payment receipt/DD/Transfer token and signed Rules & Regulation page is to be mailed or couriered to C-10, 003, Mansarovar, Lokdhara, Kalyan.421301.

ü The decision of the jury shall be final, unquestionable and binding on all participants.

ü THF may reject any film without assigning any reason whatsoever and the same cannot be challenged.

ü Once submitted the entries cannot be withdrawn for any reason whatsoever.

ü Entry and participation of films implies unconditional acceptance of the terms and regulations.

ü THFs decision in all matters pertaining to this contest and distribution terms herein shall be final and binding in all respects.

ü The films to be shot in any format. However, the recommended ratios are: 4:3 / 16:9 / 16:9 Full Height Anamorphic – in DV / HDV. The recommended video files formats are VOB, MPG, MPEG4, AVI or MOV.

ü You are required to add the Film Fest Logo before the film. It can be downloaded from here.

v By   submitting   the   film   for   the   contest   the  participant   hereby   grants   exclusive   and  perpetual   distribution   rights   to   The   Human  Fundamentals,   to   exploit   the   same   across  various   avenues,   platforms   and   viewing  devices   including   but   not   limited   to   internet,  mobile,   video-­‐on-­‐demand,   DTH,   IPTV,   cable,  satellite,  television,  theatrical,  home  video,  etc.  The   Human   Fundamentals   have   absolute   and  

final   authority   to   deal   with   the   said   film   /  content   in   any  manner   it   deems   fit.   You   shall  not   claim   any   rights   or   compensation   for   the  film   except   the   direct   sell   of   the   film   for  distribution  commercially.

without   assigning   any   reason  whatsoever   and  the  same  cannot  be  challenged.
