Page 2: The Icy Situation

Tom lived in Alaska with his fellow friend Sam. Every day they would sit next to the warm fire and hear the howling wind. One snowy day Tom and Sam went for a bike ride, which they thought would be peaceful. It was, for an hour but then a dark misty cloud came sailing towards Tom and Sam .

Toms brown wooly jacket couldn’t keep out the icy cold air any more . Tom shuddered for he

sensed that something bad was about to happen. “ We should turn back” said Tom in a

deep scared voice. “ I think not” said Sam showing no sense of being scared.

!   “It’ll blow away in a minute” bellowed Sam. Tom and Sam kept biking towards the frightening cloud then out of no where a strong wind came. Tom and Sam flew off there

damaged bikes. Tom lay on the soft snow. He got up and saw his friend being grabbed by the strong wind and taken

away. He could feel the tears triple down his red cheeks and he could hear Sam’s faint voice echo through the glimmering

trees. “ I must find him” said Tom in a shaky rattled voice .

!   The light was starting to creep behind the icy mountain and Tom could smell the old crumbs in

his brown crusty beard and the soft icy snow was getting into Tom’s brown wooly boots. Tom knew

these forests well because he was a mighty wood cutter but he knew that he had to be careful

because there are dangerous wolves in the forest. Then out of nowhere two bright green eyes shot

out of the dark green bush.

!   Tom thought his heart had stopped he knew what this was but he dared not to scream. It was a dark grey wolf and it was only a metre away. Then straight out of the bush an angry wolf came out and sunk its teeth into Tom’s black

wooly snow pants. “ Ahh!” screamed Tom. Tom was flapping his arms like a mad man. Then his eyes locked onto a thick

log. Tom gripped hold of the mighty log then boomf! The dark log slammed into the wolves shocked face. The wolf

scrambled away knowing the danger.

!   Tom gripped onto a hard thick tree and moved himself towards it. His leg was dripping with blood. Tom found a

dry leaf and lay it on the bite, then Tom drifted off to sleep which was a dangerous thing to do. He slept safely

through the night and his bad leg had stopped bleeding but it was still painful. Tom slowly lifted himself up and

hesitated to find his friend but he decided to find his friend who would probably be hurt so he stumbled

towards the tall snowy cliff.

!   Then two painful hours later Tom found his friend and he slowly picked up his buried friend and and cried in

happiness . A few days later they had a boiling hot milo and sat down in there wooden shack and had just

thought of the great adventure that had just taken place in their lives.
