IhavejustfinishedthelastofthedistrictmeetingsintheJurisdictionandhavereallyenjoyedthecamaraderieof themembers. Thehospitalitywasgreat,aswas thefood.Thelodgeswillsoonbegoingonrecess,butthatdoesn’tmeanOddFellowshipisonvacation.It’stimetostartonallofthereportsforGrandLodgesession,reportsareduebacktoGrandLodgebeforeAug.1youcanalsoemailthem.Ifyouhavenotreceivedaletterandyouareonacommitteepleaseletmeknow,soIcancorrectit. Remember,wehaverepresentativesgettingreadytogo toSovereignGrandLodgefor Idaho. Ifyouhaveanyquestionsforthemletthemknow. IhavenothadmanyoftheLodgerosterscomeback,this is important to have them filled out with membersinformationand current address, this helpswith reportstoSovereignGrandLodge.Italsokeepsournewspaperrosteruptodate. I haveheard that thereare someconcernsabouthowsomeofourassociationsandcommitteesoperate.Checkwithyourcommitteestheyshouldhavetheanswer.Allofthecommitteesshouldhavehadoneortwomeetingalreadythisyear.Iftheydonothaveananswer,giveGrandLodgeacallbetweenthemandtheExecutivecommitteewillgetyourquestionsananswer. Ifwearejusttalkingaboutaproblemwithoutaskingthecommitteesthisishowrumorscanstart.

DearBrothersandsisters, Thishasbeenanotherbusymonthwithlotsoffunactivities.SisterGeorgiaandImadeourofficialvisitstoPioneerLodgeNo.1andRoseRebekahLodgeNo.18inIdahoCityinajointopenmeetingconductedbybothOddFellowNobleGrandKathrynHarlanandRoseRe-bekahNobleGrandCalistaNewman.CalistapresentedanobjectlessonwithaballofyarntoshowhowwearealltiedtogetherinOddFellowship.Itwasveryeffective.Wehadagoodattendanceandagreatpot luckdinnerpriortothemeeting. SisterGeorgia,GrandWardenMargeHarlan,Dep-utyGrandMasterStephenMann,GrandSecretaryJeffMann, Bob Covert and myself all attended the districtmeetinginChallis.Whatagreatgroupofmemberswehave in Challis. Again we had an open meeting withmuchdiscussion.ThanksChallisforagreattime. AsIwritethisI’mabouttoheadforIslandParkforthefishfry,districtmeetingandvisittotheAshtonLodge.Iamlookingforwardtoagreatweekend. EventhoughLodgesarenowinrecessforthesum-mer,don’tforgetthattherearesummeractivitiestokeeponyourcalendar.Theseactivitiesarelistedinthepapersocheckthemout,however,plantoattendtheIOOFpic-niconAug.6inBoiseatMunicipalPark.Thisisajointeventforallunitsoftheorderandwillbealotoffunwithgamesandactivitiesaswellapotluckpicnic.Hopetoseeyouthere. MyDearRebekah’s, Welcome#17inCambridgewasverywellattended.PPVirginiaMoberlycame toaddbeautifulmusic to themeeting.Melba#105wastheretoaddtothefun.Thankyousomuchforthat.CherylRigginsdidagreatjobandwhat would they do without their wonderful Secretary,IreneJeffries.Theyaresellingtheirbuildingandclosing.Thismakemesadbutgoodnewsofthisisontheway.Ihavemyfingerscrossed. OntoHiawatha#123inIndianValley.WannaBelleCorriel is theSecretary thereandalwaysmakesall feelwelcome.TheyareholdingthemeetinginwhatwasthestoreatonetimebelowtheirLodgeRoom.Youcanjustfeelthehistoryinthisoldbuilding.Irecommendallthatcan,meetwiththeseladiesatleastonce.Youwillenjoyit. Priscilla #97 was next. I felt thoroughly spoiledthere. BarbaraStone,PPLeonaHorne, LetaBurtandtheirNobleGrand IdaMaeMarteldidagreat joband IespeciallylovedtheirprogramonStars.Ilearnedalot. InPayette,Harmony#22’sNobleGrandMernaDe-landdidawonderfuljob.Asmostofyouknow,theDelandFamily,David,MernaandCharlesaremovingtoCorvalisOregon.Theywillbegreatlymissed.ThankstoJewellDudley.IlovemycozyblanketwithGREENFrogs. Whatawonderfuldaywehad in IdahoCity. Pio-neer#1OddFellowLodgeandRose#18Rebekah’sheldaJointOpenmeeting for theGrandMasterTomAshleyand myself. Noble Grands Kathryn Harlan for PioneerandCalistaNewmanforRosedidagreatjob.TomandIhadsomuchfun.ThankstoBobCovertforprovidingthemusic! On June 4th I held my last visitation and DistrictmeetinginChallis.SilverLeaf#27hosted.TheirNobleGrandJeanieDionnedidafantasticjob.Sheisafirsttim-erandmadethebestStroganoff.Yummy!HerGrand-motherisPPJoanneJohnson.Ireallyenjoyedmytimethere,solastweekend,ItraveledbackwithGMTomandvisitedathisDistrictmeetingthere.Whatagreatgroupthoseladiesare.LoveyouLindaCampbell.

ThemonthofAprilwasverybusyfortheKooskiaRebekahLodge.OurstatePresidentwasinourDistrictandwetriedtoattendasmanyofherlodgevisitsaswecould. TheGrangevilleLadieskeepworking,eventhoughtherearefewofthemandtheyrentouttheirhall.TheyheldtheDistrict6meetinginourlodgeandalsogainedanewmemberwhowasgiventheRebekahDegreeduringthemeeting. Weheldourannualluncheonfortheladiesofthevalley,theTuesdayafterMother’sDay,asusual.Therewerefourladiesatour‘90’s’table.ThenewmemberofthisgroupwasLorraineCrabtree.Mrs.Nuxoll’schoiren-tertainedtheladies.Allladiesseventyyearsoldorolder,shouldregisterwiththeKooskiaLodge.Theyaresentinvitationsandarewelcometoattendthisannualevent. Allinall,wehavehadafullyear.WegaveRobertaJoyLeeher fiftyyear jewelasamemberandenjoyedvisitingallofthelodgesinourDistrict6.

Craigmont IOOF Lodge Began in Chicago in 1905 CraigmontI.O.O.F.LodgeNo.76wasinstitutedatChicago,Idaho,nowCraigmont,October20,1905. TwinCityRebekahLodgewasinstitutedatIlo,Idaho,nowCraigmont,March29,1909. In1937theWinchesterLodgesconsolidatedwithourLodges. TheOddFellowsandRebekahssufferedagreatloss,June2,1931,whentheI.O.O.F.Lodgehallburned.OneofourbrotherRebekahswasabletosaveourrecordingsecretarybookandmembershipbook. MeetingswereheldintheGrangeHallforseveralyears.
OnApril6,1944,theOddFellowspurchasedabuildingonMainStreet,aftermuchremodelingitservedasmeetingplacefortheLodgesformanyyears.OnJuly1,1971,theOddFellowsandRebekahsgatheredfortheceremoniestobreakgroundforanewbuildingatthesamesiteofoldhall.Thebuildingcontainedtwolargeroomsformeetings,kitchenandmodernfacilities,whichwasathrillforallLodgemembers.ThebuildingwascompletedandtheLodgesheldtheirfirstmeetingsOctober21,1971.DuetotheabsenceofbrotherandsisterHaroldLiedkiesandbrotherandsisterTedHerricks,whoweredelegatedandattendingGrandLodgeAssembly,ViceGrand,JuanitaMoeandFinancialSecretary,HannahWay,hadthepleasureofactingasNobleGrandandSecretaryrespectfullyfortheRebekahLodge,thefirstmeetinginthenewHall. DownthroughtheyearstheOddFellowsandRebekahshavesufferedalossofmembers,thereforemembershipissmall,butstillhangontokeepthelodgesalivewithhighhopesofincreasingmembership.

45.Provideaprogramthattakeshomelesspeopleinthecommunityandallowsthemtheopportunitytobecomeapro-ductivepartofitbyprovidingthemanopportunitytoworkbykeepingthecitycleanerastheyaregivenanhourlywage.Itwouldbeidealtosetupanational“cleansweep”programineverycityortownthatanOddFelloworRebekahlodgeexists.Theprogramwouldrequirefulltimeemployeeswhowouldbeinvolvedcloselywithtownorcityrepresentatives,businessowners,andprivateindividualstocoordinateworkopportunitiesforthepeoplewithintheprogram.AsOddFellowsandRebekahswewouldprovidefunds,jobleads,toolsandmentorshiptotheparticipants.

BarbaraJuneRinggold,age86,diedpeacefullyFri-day,June10,2016,atSt.Luke’sHospitalinBoise,Idaho,twodaysshortofher87thbirthday.AviewingwasheldonFriday,June17,2016,andfuneralserviceswasatRostFuneralHome,McMurtreyChapel,inMountainHome. BarbaraJuneKerrwasbornJune12,1929,inAb-erdeen,S.D.,toRobertJ.KerrandMaryRosetteSmithKerr.ThefamilyeventuallymovedtoLongBeach,Calif.,whereBarbgraduatedfromLongBeachPolytechnicHighSchool. After training as a Registered Nurse at NebraskaMethodistHospitalinOmaha,Neb.,shemarriedWilliamPaulRinggoldonMay19,1951,andlivedinLongBeach,Calif. Barb went to work at Seaside Hospital in LongBeach, where daughter Paula Kaye was born in May1952. ThefamilymovedtoMountainHomeinabout1955.Theirson,RobertAllen(Bob),wasbornin1956,andan-other daughter,Amy B., in 1964. Barb worked for theMountainHomePoliceDepartmentandtheschooldistrictbeforebeingemployedattheElmoreMemorialHospitalformany,manyyears. ShewasalifetimememberoftheGuidingStarRe-bekahLodge#4andservedhercommunityfor60years.SheretiredfromElmoreMemorialHospitalin1995after35yearsinnursing. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband,Paul Ringgold of Mountain Home; sister Beverly JanetKerrCloseofArvada,Colo.;andgrandsonJasonPaulAl-lenofSalem,Ore. Sheissurvivedbyherdaughter,PaulaAllenofSa-lem,Ore.;sonRobertRinggoldofMountainHome;daugh-terAmyArnoldofSimpsonville,S.C.;nieceSharonCoonsofLittleton,Colo.;nephewStephenClosealsoofColo-rado;grandsonsNathanAllenofKeizer,Ore.,andAaronArnold of Simpsonville, S.C.; granddaughters AmandaHarrisandAliciaArnoldofSimpsonville,S.C.;andthreegreat-grandsonsandthreegreat-granddaughters. AsachildKenmovedwithhis family toWashing-ton State where he attended and graduated from HighSchool.Heworkedatvariousjobsthroughouthislifeandownedseveralbusinessesincludingworkingasabanker,carpenter,andownedhisownrefrigerationbusiness,andhottarroofingbusiness,lastlyworkingasayardforemanatanRVdealer. KenmetPatriciaAnnMcMinimyinPostFalls,Idahoandtheywerelatermarriedin1978.TogethertheymovedtoAlaskawheretheylivedfor14years.TheyeventuallymovedbacktoIdahofinallysettlinginPlummer,Idaho. KenwasapastGrandMasterof the IndependentorderofOddFellowsinIdaho.HewasalsoamemberoftheEagles,theAmericanLegion,andthelocalclassiccarclub.Heenjoyedhunting,fishing,camping,andrestoringclassiccars. HeissurvivedbyhislovingwifePatriciaofthefam-ilyhomeinPlummer,Idaho;threechildrenDonald,Ron-ald,andLinda;fivestepchildrenKristin,Joseph,Robert,David,andMike;andseveralgrandandgreat-grandchil-dren.
