Hello Everybody!

Season’s Greetings!

Change is the only constant, and it is truer in the IT industry than anywhere else. What else can make centuries-old companies change business models and conduct an overhaul overnight?! Technologies change so much that skills relevant 8 years ago are already becoming obsolete. Probably, no other industry has its employees’ reskilling as often as the IT industry!

The onset of spring and the sight of blossoming owers, especially around our head ofce in Bengaluru got me thinking of how change is not always as fearful as people are about it. It can bring joy and happiness. The onset of Machine Learning, Automation, and Articial Intelligence has gotten a lot of students as well as working professionals worried. Worried about change, worried about being jobless, worried one’s skills are outdated and worried that they cannot have an IT career. Worst of all, completely squashing their hopes and dreams of having an IT career. The change in technologies need not so drastically affect the ambition of young minds. It is important to rst understand and then smartly adapt.

If you read about IT jobs being lost, know for a fact that tens of thousands of IT jobs with latest skills are being created. Did you know cloud computing job postings have increased by 1500% in the last 7 years? That is a lot of jobs! And what does it take to t into the bill? The right kind of upskilling!

Let me remind you, that once you upskill and do get a job, your learning of new skills does not stop. It has to be a continuous process in order to stay relevant to the job world and the industry. So change as such, is neither scary nor should it discourage you. All you need to do is, face it head-on with the best preparation that you can.

I am proud that IIHT has made 15 lakh students adapt to the change, everytime a new technology rolled out in the last 20+ years. Being a pioneer in IT training in India, we are at the forefront of all technological changes. Being also corporate trainers gives us an insight into what is coming, allowing us to prepare our students even better. Make sure the change you make to yourself is a positive one - of upskilling rather than getting discouraged due to lack of information. Remember, our counselors are always available to help you pick an IT course suitable to your inclinations, helping you draw a clear career path. Wishing you all the very best!

Almost everyone who gets online these days use cloud service, sometimes even without noticing. Services like watching movies, listening to songs, use of email, storing documents and images etc. all use cloud computing in the back-end. Organizations use third party cloud computing service providers to host their products and the end customers use them, giving unlimited benet. So who makes the magic work in the background – the Cloud Engineers of course!

Cloud Engineers work an interesting job – right from architecture planning to deployment to maintenance. They all start off as aspiring cloud engineers, and you, the reader are probably one of them? General knowledge about Cloud technology is something that you, as an aspiring Cloud Engineer can use, anytime. So here goes..

Cloud computing services are categorized into 3 types:1. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): This cloud service provides the infrastructure like Operating System, Networks, Servers,

Storage, Virtual Machines etc. on rent module basis. Ex. Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services2. Platform as a Service (PaaS): This is a service that is used for testing, developing and maintaining of Software. It is the same as

Infrastructure as a Service but also provides tools in addition, like BI, DBMS etc. 3. Software as a Service (SaaS): This is a service that helps users connect to any application needed using the internet on the basis

of a subscription module. Ex. Salesforce, Google Applications. Here is a closer look at the most popular of them:1. Amazon Web Service:

Ÿ AWS is considered the safest and the most protected of all cloud services.Ÿ It offers a large variety of infrastructure like computing power, database storage, networking etc. Ÿ Users can build complex applications which are scalable, trustworthy and exible.

2. Google Cloud Platform: Ÿ This offering from Google makes use of resources like virtual machines, computers, hard disks and similar devices that are

physically located in Google’s data centers. Ÿ Google Cloud Platform is an integrated storage that is used by enterprises and developers for live dataŸ The service is feature rich with constant updates that are in many cases driven by client demands.

3. Microsoft Azure:Ÿ Previously called Windows Azure, Microsoft Azure is used for designing, managing and deploying applications through the

worldwide network.Ÿ This Cloud computing service supports a number of databases, operating systems, programming languages, tools,

frameworks etc.4. Vmware:Ÿ Its cloud computing is exclusive and helps with the decrease in IT intricacy, gives exible agile services, lowers expenses etc.Ÿ VMware vCloud Air is a protected and safe public cloud platform which offers storage, networking, computing and disaster

recovery etc.

The Cloud stack course at IIHT gives hands-on training in actual cloud labs for all of them! Get a look at what’s on offer at cloudstack.iiht.com!

The understanding of Microsoft Azure begins with knowing what exactly it is. Azure is a collection of various services that enables organizations and individuals to create, deploy and operate applications and infrastructure services that are cloud based.

The advantages of using Microsoft Azure. This cloud service has quite a few advantages over similar other such cloud platforms and this is why a lot of organizations are adapting to Azure. The two areas where Azure certainly wins are scalability and reliability. The services of Microsoft Azure are gotten from cloud data centers which have many built in redundancies. What does this mean? It means the applications can be deployed in many different locations with many copies making it easy for running it during the event of an accident or a disaster in any one of the regions.

One of the main advantages of Microsoft Azure is that is it cost-effective. Because:1. No termination fees 2. No upfront costs 3. Billing done per minute 4. Pay as you use policy

There are many plans that users can pick as per their requirement. Before you begin, you can review and visualize the billing information and usage across various subscriptions and plans, the billing portal can be personalized or visualized. Companies that already use Microsoft technologies get the best advantage of using Azure in conjunction with their other technologies like SQL Server, Microsoft System Canter, SharePoint etc.

The StartThe public cloud platform from Microsoft Azure offers Saas (software as a service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) to organizations across the world. In order to get a hang of the different Azure services, one should start with basic concepts for cloud design applications.

Learning about Cloud Design PatternsAzure provides a complete infrastructure and platform for hosting large scare cloud services and web based applications. Cloud design patterns can be used in cloud hosted applications. Every one of these patterns is provided in a universal format that describes the problem and context, issues, solution and considerations for applying patterns along with an example based on Azure.

Here is an example of two of the most important Azure Cloud design patterns:1. Competing Consumer Pattern: This one enables more than one concurrent consumer to process messages that are received in

the same messaging channel. This also provides a system for processing several messaged concurrently in order to optimize throughput, balance workload and improve availability and scalability

2. Sharding Pattern: A good example of usage of this pattern would be in the implementation of Azure SQL Database. This pattern divides a data store into a set of horizontal partition shards that can improve the scalability during the access and storage of large volumes of data.

Learn all about Azure Cloud patterns at IIHT’s all new Cloud course where you get to master it to perfection!

Placement Pillars

Before we delve into why an aspiring Cloud engineer should get trained in multi-cloud, let us rst understand what is multi-cloud.What is Multi-cloud?

The multi-cloud is a quickly growing, popular cloud approach that is made of one or more than one cloud service. This can be made from a combination of the same cloud vendor or different cloud vendors and any of them can be either private or public. Businesses select the most appropriate environment for both applications and infrastructure in order to get the optimal multi-cloud combination.

Multi-cloud deployments are actually a mixed bag that provide business value but come with complex management. A lot of third party management tools help out with the complex management challenges.

Why organizations chose multi-cloud?Today business challenges are being answered by technology, but multi-cloud on the face of it makes it look complicated, so why do organizations go for it? The reason is a technological one. There are certain APIs, features and architectures that can be supported better on one cloud option more than the others. Another reason is - raw economics. Companies adopt the multiple cloud approach in order to meet continuously evolving business goals and to dodge a single-vendor dependency and lock-in. Here is an example of why an organization would pick multi-cloud:

A cloned IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) deployment will ensure more efcient failover, better availability, decreased risk of crippling distributed denial-of-service downtimes and disaster recovery. Moreover, if there is a possibility of growing data explosion, it requires a unique approach to handle all kinds of corporate information.

Cloud management tools help with maintenance of visibility and oversight all across these resources that are spread across. This requires trained multi-cloud professionals who have had hands on lab experience.

Automation – assisting with multi-cloud managementToday, management tools though are capable of automating assets across any environment. When an enterprise gets on board trained multi cloud professionals who are adept at working with modern automation tools, change in cloud services is averted. The greatest advantage is enhancement of workload security and performance for cloud-native and traditional applications.

Multi-cloud trained specialists – dire need for the hourThe best practices for managing a multi-cloud set up can only be carried out by a trained individual who has worked hands-on in the environment by testing all combinations and workings of several kinds of platforms. The number of cloud service providers that enterprises are using is on the rise and as per research reports; it is now the right time to get trained in multi-cloud management in order to t the bill. IIHT’s cloud stack course includes multi-cloud course where participants are given the coveted cloud access and the opportunity to work with all the major cloud products from the biggest cloud service providers in order to get hands on experience. With our LaaS (Learning as a Service) approach to cloud training, course participants can’t be better prepared to take on a multi-cloud environment!
