EMS ProgrammeSupporting Vet students to see excellence in practice and gain essential practical experience to develop the necessary wide-ranging skills to be a vet.

The comprehensive EMS programme has been designed to mirror the academic curriculum of students as they progress through years 3, 4 and 5 of vet school; shaped by extensive input from universities, clinicians and new graduates. It will develop essential practical skills as students work through a wide-ranging skills matrix, putting theory into clinical practice.

Programme Overview With this unique three-year EMS programme, we have created a structured network of support and development that allows students to gain invaluable real-world experience earlier in their training. At IVC, supporting our vets both professionally and personally is very important, and so we have worked hard to ensure that the EMS programme will help undergraduates develop competence and confidence in a safe and supportive practice environment.

EMS placements can be arranged across IVC’s national network of practices, and can ultimately lead students into a structured career path from Graduate to Senior Clinician, Referral Surgeon, Clinical Directorship and beyond.

Please see our website for further details:https://www.independentvetcare.co.uk/ems-practice-finder

Graduate AcademyAsk a Graduate what is the most important aspect of the first year in practice, and you will almost always get the same answer “support”.

The Graduate Academy has been designed based on this principle and provides support in the form of bespoke CPD programmes, Clinical Coach support in practice, access to online CPD and networking opportunities with their peers.

Programme OverviewThe CPD programme is designed to stream Clinical & Practical skills as well as Communication, Leadership & Business running alongside each other throughout the two-year Programme. It will develop essential practical skills as the Graduates work through a wide-ranging skills matrix, putting theory into clinical practice, with the aim of supporting structured career paths from Graduate to Senior Clinician, Referral Surgeon, Clinical Directorship and beyond.

Getting a Graduate If you are interested in recruiting a Graduate, you will need to gain Academy status by signing up to our practice guidelines that are designed to support the Graduate in practice.

Please note, there are a limited amount of spaces available on the Graduate Academy programme, so please email [email protected] if you are interested, as soon as possible.
