I Chose this topic because I am a basketball player and I am passionate about the sport, and I think it would be cool to know how it came around.

Basketball was invented by a man called James Naismith.

The idea of basketball was to fill the off season between baseball and football.

Basketball had 13 original rules. Basketball became an Olympic sport in

1939. Professional basketball started in 1946 with

the NBA. (National Basketball association.)

Pro basketball was huge in the sports world, because it gave sports fans something to fill the gap between football and baseball.

Professional basketball gave the owners of hockey arenas a way to make more money because the hockey arenas were also used to host early NBA games.

Professional basketball had no players to begin with, so the first NBA players were mostly were people who had just gotten back from serving time in the military.

Revolution, reaction, reform

revolution; My topic was a revolution in the sense that it was a new sport being introduced to the world, and a new way for people to make money.

Reaction; the reaction was small at first, because basketball was not yet popular. But there were many people who were quickly interested in the new sport.
