For the information of all government organizations, constitutional bodies, corporations and private agencies: Dzongkha is the national

language of our country which has been continuously promoted as the lingua franca of the nation. Dzongkha is internationally

recognized as the national language of Bhutan by UN and it is enshrined as such by Article 1(8) and Article 6 (3.C) of the Constitution

which also stipulates that all our citizens should be able to read and write in Dzongkha .

Based on these clauses of the Constitution, we would like to inform all agencies and organizations that all employees who are

interested in Dzongkha, and eployees who are educated in Dzongkha ediu ust be given opportunities to enhance their

knowledge and skills in Dzongkha at training and educational institutes in the country. We wish to encourage you to provide them study

leave and any necessary assistance for this purpose.

It has come to our notice, that many employees in different agencies who are interested in improving their Dzongkha knowledge and
