Introduction
Wed 01 Feb
Made In China: We Hope That You’re Happy (Why Would We Lie?)Time: 8pm
Duration: 50 mins
Age: 12+ / J3
Jess is stuck. Her lifelong friend, Chris, can’t help. The others are out getting wasted. And the world is falling apart.
Luckily Jess and Chris have a cooler full of beer, a goofy rapport, a series of dance moves - and a sincere desire to make you, the audience, happy. Or so they claim.
Each claims the other’s a liar. That they only met last year. And that they are eyewitnesses to the key world events of the last hundred years.
A hilarious and unsettling examination of what it means to be a tuned-in, delusional and unwitting consumer in a hyper-communicative world.
Presented as part of BAC Take Out - productions developed at BAC presented nationally and internationally.
“ Quirky, funny…surreal and entertaining” The Scotsman
Dan Canham: 30 Cecil StreetTime: 9pm
Duration: 25 mins
Age: 12+ / J2
In 2009 Dan Canham (Kneehigh, DV8, Punchdrunk, Fabulous Beast) made a film in a rotting, dilapidated theatre in Limerick, Ireland.
Using that film as source material, this original piece of dance-theatre is an eloquent, heartbreaking elegy for a lost and ruined theatre. A performance of fragments of memories, of wild nights and long-disappeared communities. It evokes the life of a once-mighty building and asks what is left when a theatre closes its doors to the public.
See the original film at www.stillhouse.co.uk
Made with support from Grants for the Arts through Arts Council England, Escalator Performing Arts, Bristol Ferment and Battersea Arts Centre.

There’s a place where you confess your sins to voicemail. There’s a place where you can buy a cure for loneliness on CD. There’s a place where you can rent strangers to cry at your funeral.
There’s a place where there are only five official haircuts for men. There’s a place where, if the army send your Dad overseas, they give you a life-size cut-out version to keep you company. A theatre piece with songs: one original, one karaoke. Join Third Angel and mala voadora as they attempt to describe the whole world.
A co-production with Sheffield Theatres & Teatro Maria Matos, Lisbon in association with Worldmapper.org.

John Osborne: John Peel’s ShedTime: 8pm
Duration: 1hr 05
Age: 14+
Price: £8 / £6 con / J3
In 2002, John Osborne won a competition on John Peel’s Radio One show. His prize was a box of records that took eight years to listen to.
This five-star, sell-out smash theatre hit of the Edinburgh Festival, broadcast on BBC Radio Four in December 2011, is an ode to radio, those records and anyone who’s ever sought solace in wireless.
Inspired by Osborne’s acclaimed book Radio Head (Radio 4’s Book Of The Week) and featuring records previously owned by Peel.
Produced by Show + Tell.
Script edited by Joe Dunthorne (Submarine).
“ Osborne sits somewhere between Tom Wrigglesworth and Daniel Kitson, which is a very good place to sit. I could have listened for hours” The Independent

ponydance: Where did it all go right?Time: 8pm
Duration: 45 mins
Age: 16+*
Price: £10 / £8 con / J2
Four people in a bar, trying to get out of it.
You’ve probably met some of them before. Nearly outrageous, mostly clever, always inventive. A hearty, lumpy mix of humour, honesty, careening and cavorting.
The ever-industrious ponydance, champions of comedy dance-theatre and all things brilliantly average, serve up their latest and tastiest. A confection of moves and movement to a soundtrack of garish music and nervous tension. Four outstanding performers dance their way into hearts, minds and underwear. You’ll laugh and cringe!
ponydance - good looking, funny, charming.... what’s not to like?

Night Light Theatre / (Kindling) Project: VertigoTime: 6.30 & 8pm
Duration: 50 mins
Age: 13+
Price: £8 / £6 con / J3
Vertigo is a surprising tale of two young people struggling to keep their balance as their lives spin out of control.
Live music and nostalgic ramblings combine in this intimate piece. Two solo performers become unlikely friends and tell their stories of growing up and moving forward. Real life comedy tales and informal direct address place this show somewhere in between madcap theatre-presentation and observational comedy performance. The (Kindling) Project has been created by Night Light Theatre to support, develop and promote new work and emerging artists. This production is directed by Rich Rusk and written by the performers (Philippa Hogg and Tom Penn).
Sometimes before you take a big step in life, you might feel a little Vertigo…

Blind Summit Theatre: The TableTime: 8pm
Duration: 1hr
Age: 14+
Price: £12 / £8 con / J2
Fresh from an award winning sell out run at the Pleasance, Edinburgh, puppet innovators Blind Summit Theatre present their brand new show about a puppet stuck on a table.
The Table is a visual feast of adult puppetry including a ballet of disembodied heads, a story told entirely with pieces of paper emerging from a briefcase, and a tiny puppet Moses with a cardboard head full of lonely wisdom. Blind Summit employ their trademark ‘extreme puppetry’ style, dark Beckettian humour and flat-pack technology, to give you a theatrical experience like no other.
No man is an island, but sometimes a puppet can be a table…

Analogue: 2401 ObjectsTime: 8pm
Duration: 1hr
Age: 14+
Price: £12 / £8 con / J2
2401 Objects is the new Fringe First winning show by “bright new things of British Theatre” Analogue (Observer), direct from an acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival.
In 1953 Henry Molaison emerges from experimental brain surgery without any recollection of the last two years of his life, or the ability to form new memories.
In 2009 Patient H.M.’s brain is dissected live on the internet to a global audience of 400,000 people, cut into carefully preserved slices; manuscripts of tissue like the pages of a book.
Inspired by the world’s most important neuroscientific case-study, 2401 Objects tells the remarkable story of a man who could no longer remember, but who has proven impossible to forget.
An Analogue, Oldenburgisches Staatstheater and New Wolsey Theatre co-production.

Shirley is a teenage boy with a girl’s name, growing up in suburbia and feeling like the weirdest kid in the school. Nothing makes much sense to him, and his heart belongs to a classmate who barely knows he exists.
Wound Man is an unconventional superhero, sprung from the pages of a medieval medical textbook, with an alarming assortment of weapons sticking out from every part of his body.
Wound Man has just moved into a house on Shirley’s street - and he happens to have a vacancy for a teenage sidekick...
The Adventures of Wound Man and Shirley is a funny and touching story by Chris Goode about two unlikely friends and the adventures they share.

The Paper Birds: ThirstyTime: 8pm
Duration: 1hr
Age: 12+
Price: £12 / £8 con / J2
Multi-award winning company The Paper Birds present their critically acclaimed, sell-out show Thirsty.
Based on our nation’s love affair with alcohol, Thirsty weaves together real stories, memories and booze-based confessions, collected from a ‘drunken hotline’ and an online questionnaire.
Fusing live music, verbatim text and stunning physical theatre, The Paper Birds explore the stories and social repercussions of lost memories and gained traumas, bruised knees, uncontrollable laughter, urine stained beds and sore heads, particularly focusing on the women waving the flag for ‘Booze-Britain’.
A dynamic theatrical exploration delving beyond statistics, facts and figures, Thirsty looks to the faces and the voices of everyone who likes a drink and asks why, as a nation, are we so thirsty?
“Terrifically sharp, vibrantly choreographed and sensitively paced, poignant without getting preachy” The Independent on Sunday
