• We are a no-kill shelter and find homes for 97% of our pets.

• HSGKC and KCK Animal Services have built a partnership to save the lives of the pets in the KCK City shelter. This partnership has significantly de-creased the KCK City shelter’s euthanasia rate since 2009.

• We provide adoptions, education programs, spay/neutering and preven-tive care for animals.

• We are the oldest animal shelter in the greater KC community – serving homeless animals since 1912.

Why Support The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City?

In 2015 we were able to:• Provide veterinary services to 21,777 pets in need

• Perform 4,633 low cost spay/neuter surgeries

• Provide pet food and additional vet assistance to 1,304 pets from low income homes through our Charity Care Pet Program

• Partner with Kansas City, KS Animal Services to provide basic veteri-nary care to over 1,873 dogs and cats housed in their shelter, and fund emergency care for 239 animals.

• Adopt out hundreds of strays picked up by Animal Services through our Ray of Hope program (over 6,000 volunteer hours!)

• 600 other volunteers worked tirelessly at the shelter, satellite adoptions and special events totaling more than 10,000 hours!

We receive no funding from the city, state or federal government or any national humane society, including The Humane Society of the United States. The no-kill shelter is kept open only through donations from local animal lovers.
