BRIDE Katherine (Kate) Penick, 28, a licensed professional counselor GROOM Marcus Reading, 35, director of intellectual property consulting HOW THEY MET Through mutual friends WEDDING STYLE A country wedding with glamorous old-Hollywood touches like luxe chandeliers; elegant draping; low, lush floral arrangements; and a rich color palette of ivory, blush, gold and black.

Kate and Marcus knew they wanted a wedding in Kate’s hometown. While exploring different options, Kate realized her father’s ranch was the ideal setting for their day. “It’s such a beautiful place,” Kate says. “I am so happy that we were able to celebrate such a special day at a place we can visit again and again to relive the memories.”

Embellished with pearl piping and white sugar flowers, the couple’s seven-tier wedding cake was covered in fabric-like fondant draping and luxe quilting. A canopy and three chandeliers hung overhead. “Our cake was absolutely amazing—it was one of my favorite things about our wedding,” Kate recalls.
