THE KRONOS QUARTET TO PREMIERE NEW WORK AT UD ARTS SERIES SHOW

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Krenos Quartet will premiere a new work, "Lieu, d/Wig, Wand/Bay/Tow, v&" by composer John Oswald, during their university of Dayton Arts Series performance at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Victoria Theater, 138 N. Main St. in Dayton.
Tickets for the performance are available by calling the Victoria Theater box office at (513) 228-3630. Tickets are also available on campus in Kennedy Union Room 133 from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 3 to 5
p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. The Krenos Quartet, widely considered to be a leading vo1ce
for new works, includes David Harrington and John Sherba on violin, Hank Dutt on viola and Joan Jeanrenaud on cello. Krenos has assembled a body of work unparalleled in its range and scope of expression, and in the process, has captured the attention of audiences world-wide.
The Quartet's extensive repertoire ranges from Bartok, Webern and Ives to Charles Mingus, John Cage and Howlin' Wolf.
Krenos performs annual concert seasons in san Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, and tours extensively with more than 100
concerts each year in concert halls, clubs and at jazz festivals throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, South America, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Australia.
