Next Meeting: Mon, 16th Nov (7.30pm, staffroom) We hope you are all settling into the new year at school. The committee for the 2015/16 year is:

Chair: Sue Stevens Vice Chair: Emma Burden Secretary: Emma Lambert Treasurer: Anna Chapman

As a committee we generally meet once or twice every half-term; this is a chance to discuss events that have been held since the previous meeting, to plan further events and come up with fundraising ideas and decide how we are going to spend the money. Lego Exhibition

Thank you to everyone who came to the Lego Exhibition on 26th September 2015. Our third Lego Exhibition at the school was the most successful yet! It was a great day, everyone had a good time and we brought in over £8,000 for the school! A massive thank you to Russell Chapman for sharing and building his Lego collection for the event. It couldn’t have happened without him (nor Anna!). Nor without the help and support of all those parents, carers and staff who volunteered their time to help plan, build, set up and run the event. The amount of help we had and the enthusiasm received for this event bears testimony to what a great team of parents and staff we have, and what a great school The Lea is. THANK YOU all!

Christmas Fair Friday 27th November at 3:30pm

The Christmas Fair is only 6 weeks away and as usual with our fairs, the PTA relies on the very kind donations given by parents, carers and friends of the school. Sara Sparrow is leading the production of the programme again this year and Emma Burden is gathering some fantastic prizes for the raffle. If you are aware of any businesses wishing to donate a prize or place an advert in the programme please contact Emma at [email protected] We have a truly outstanding line-up of prizes for the raffle again this year: top prize being a fantastic Christmas hamper from the Governors. Watch out for the tickets which will be sent home in book bags on Friday, 13th November. (The raffle will be drawn in order of top prize and then winners can select their prize from the pot.)

This year we are asking for your help with donations listed below. Please use the half term to start collecting, but because we have nowhere to store items, only bring donations into the school on the morning of FRIDAY, 27TH NOVEMBER. Bottle Tombola for the 'big people' - We would

like donations of drinkable bottles, either alcoholic or non-alcoholic, big or small.

Chocolate Tombola for the 'little people' - We

also require chocolates/sweets in wrappers or boxes; big or small, advent calendars, etc. all gratefully received! We will be sending out cellophane bags for filling on Friday, 20th November.

Cake Stall - A plate will be sent home on Friday, 20th November. Please bring in all delicious cake donations on Friday, 27th November.

All the above donations will be in exchange for coming to school in non-uniform on Friday, 27th November. Other stalls which need your support are:- Adopt A Teddy - Please donate any unwanted

soft toys in a good condition. Christmas Stall / 2nd Hand Stall – We are looking

for items / gifts in good condition. We are also looking for unwanted ornaments, DVDs, CDs, toys, jigsaws, Christmas decorations, books, etc.

After the half term break we'll be looking for volunteers to help with setting up on the day or running a stall. If you can spare even just half an hour it would be appreciated.
