A NETWORK OF STATE

ADVOCACY LEADERS ROOTED

IN THE COMMUNITY

The Legal Impact Network brings together strong

legal and policy advocates from throughout the

country who are using innovative, coordinated

strategies to address poverty and advance racial

justice. Our advocacy helps people meet their basic

human needs, supports working families, promotes

the well-being of children, and advances opportunity

and justice for all.

STATE-LEVEL ACTION,

NATIONAL IMPACT

Our members are driving coordinated multi-state

strategies to win broad policy and legal victories

for and with poor communities and communities of

color. Through working groups and convenings, our

advocates share victories and expertise, and develop

resources, strategies, model policies, and legal tools

to maximize impact across the country.

ACHIEVING CHANGE, STATE BY STATE,

FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN POVERTY AND

COMMUNITIES OF COLOR

At the state and local levels where critical policy

decisions are made, members of the Legal Impact

Network deliver powerful victories for low-income

communities and communities of color.

The Legal Impact Network is a dynamic collaborative of advocacy organizations from across the country working with communities to end poverty and achieve racial justice at the federal, state and local levels.

- Important policy decisions on issues like criminal

justice, jobs and workplaces, domestic and

community violence, and public education are

driven by state and local decision-makers, often

with limited federal input.

- States and localities make key decisions in

the implementation of critical federal programs,

decisions that determine access to, or denial

of, housing, health care, and vital public benefits.
