But Teddy is afraid of water.
“I don’t want to go swimming!”
he cries. “I’d rather play on dry land.”
Mum tries to persuade him.
“Swimming is vitally important
for polar bears,” she says.
But Teddy won’t be told, so Mum
has to leave him alone on the shore.
“What’s so great about water?”
thinks Teddy. Then he goes off to find
something else to do.
He hears some seals laughing loudly.
“Want to dive with us?” they ask Teddy.
“In the water? No, I don’t. Count me out.”
