The Living and Active Word of God

1. God has spoken… his word is enough
The Living and Active Word of God
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word
Hebrews 1:1-3

The Living and Active Word of God

2 Timothy 3:16-17
1. God has spoken… his word is enough
The Living and Active Word of God
You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
John 5:39-40
1. God has spoken… his word is enough
2. God is speaking… his word is active
The Living and Active Word of God
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Hebrews 4:12-13
1. God has spoken… his word is enough
2. God is speaking… his word is active
3. God will speak… his word can be trusted
The Living and Active Word of God
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
