Step #1GOOGLE M Y B U S I N E S S

When a new member comes to town, chances

are they will search for a service your credit union

offers. Oftentimes, that search will happen on a

mobile device. Google drives 96% of the mobile

search traffic. With 75% of local intent searches

coming from a mobile device, your Google My

Business (GMB) page needs to be a top priority.

Whether you have 1 branch or 100+, it's important

that you claim, clean, and optimize every GMB

Listing.

the location of your credit union on a map.

additional steps:a1. Check the box for I deliver goods and

services to my customers. Optionally, check

already been claimed,” click Request ownership and

follow the directions to claim your business. This can

happen often when people leave the credit union

and you are unaware of the credentials.

Step #3R E V I E W S

AUDIT YOUR REVIEWS Reviews have a major influence on your local SEO

and reputation. By running an audit on your reviews

across every review site, you'll be able to better

understand:

What areas you can improve in.

Which locations are excelling and which

need improvement.

How to improve your customer experience.

How often you're responding to reviews.

What to look for in an audit:

Review Quantity

Review Frequency

Amount of Responses to Reviews

Average Star Rating

Competitor Reviews + Responding

RESPOND TO YOUR REVIEWS

After you audit your current review status, spend some

time responding to all your reviews. Responding to

reviews not only increases listing rank but it also shows

your members that you care.

Step #4SOCIAL M E D I A

AUDIT YOUR SOCIAL PRESENCE Social media is an easy way to build up your SEO

presence. Because social media sites already have

great authority with Google and other search engines,

it's easy to rank on the first page through your social

media accounts. It's important to keep your social

media pages active and engaging.

Step #5LOCAL RANKINGS &COMPETITOR A N A L Y S I S

WHERE DO YOU RANK? In local search, you’re competing for views, clicks,

calls, and requests for directions. 75% of users never

scroll past the first page and 20% of clicks go to the

number one result. If you're looking to improve your

local rankings, you have to first benchmark where

you currently rank.

To benchmark your rankings, identify 5 - 10

unbranded keywords that your typical customers

would use to find your business. Use those keywords

to conduct a test search in different local markets.

Don't forget to include some "near me" keywords in

your tests. Keep track of where you're ranking for each

keyword at each location.

WHERE DO YOUR COMPETITORS RANK? While you benchmark your own rankings, see where

you compare to your top competitors in each market.

Who's outranking you and why? Do they have posts,

is their listing more complete, do they respond to

reviews? By finding out why they're outranking you,

it's easier to identify where you can make

improvements.
