The London Bike Show

This weekend the CoreBicycle Team had the opportunity to visit the London Bike Show at ExCel, a must for any London bike lover! Great show with lots of action by the Half-pipe, trials section or Pumptrack. It was a shame that some of the big names in the industry such as Trek, Specialized, Kona, Commencal… were missing, but we still found many exclusive models, have a look at what caught our eye!

In the folding-bicycle section we found two exceptional examples for their design; the UK based Moulton’s Jubilee Sportive (photo3) limited edition (of only 50 units) loaded with Campagnolo Athena Dedacomponents and finished in classic Bugatti blue, stainless-steel highlights and leather seat and grips. Just look at all the details, truly stunning bike.

And the all-aluminium Italian Nanoo FB (photo4) from Advanced Mobility weighing in at only 12kg and folding to minimum space of just 710x250x1030mm. Available in as many colours as the rainbow.

Haibike’s XDURO AMT PRO (photo6) is looking into the future with its Hybrid electric MTB, gold winner of the 2014 Design& Innovation Awards. It has a Bosch Midmount Performance 36Volt, 250 Watt electric motor. Definitely a bike I would like to try.

If you really want to be different, choose between any of these Surly from its Omni Terra series, our favourites! Moonlander, Pug Ops and Pugsley (photo7). Great as a recreational vehicle in sandy or snowed areas thanks to its low-pressure 4.8” tyres mounted on 100mm rims and its light 4130 Cro-Moly steel frames. I really want one, it’s on my wish-list!

So, to summarise, it is clear the future looks bright in the bike world with more choice than ever before, more brands, new concepts being developed constantly and profuse use of exotic materials to deliver the perfect ride for you! Carbon fibre, aluminium, new generation of forks and dampers and incredibly sharp hydraulic disk brake systems seem to be the way forward.

Dudes & dudettes, see you soon!

Don’t let your Fears get in the way of your Dreams. Ride beyond…
